As a new type of information technology, blockchain systems exhibit varying degrees of functionality completeness, security, scalability, performance, and maturity. Through multidimensional and in-depth evaluations of blockchain-related products, shortcomings can be identified and addressed, thereby resolving issues related to the sustainability of blockchain applications caused by technical problems and redundant constructions.
Introduction to the “Trusted Blockchain Series Evaluation”
The “Trusted Blockchain Series Evaluation” is an industry-leading blockchain evaluation system conducted by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology. Since 2017, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology has been engaged in blockchain evaluation services for five consecutive years, completing over 270 specialized tests for more than 150 organizations. The seventh batch of evaluations will introduce three new evaluation items: hardware and software environment compatibility, interoperability, and postal logistics applications. This will form a comprehensive evaluation system that includes basic functions, performance, BaaS, security, cryptography, interoperability, as well as evidence storage applications, traceability applications, supply chain finance, government applications, electronic invoices, copyright evidence, and postal logistics, totaling 13 evaluation services.

The Seventh Batch of Trusted Blockchain Evaluation System
Introduction to the Basic Functions Evaluation
The Trusted Blockchain Basic Functions Evaluation assesses the foundational capabilities supported by the underlying blockchain system, aiming to measure the capability range of the underlying blockchain. The basic functions evaluation serves as the foundation for other evaluation projects within the Trusted Blockchain Evaluation System. For the basic functions evaluation, the seventh batch will introduce hardware and software environment compatibility testing, with testing environments includingX86, ARM, and other chip architectures, as well as Windows, Linux, and Kirin operating systems.
The basic functions evaluation specifically includes modules such as networking methods and communication, data storage and transmission, availability of encryption modules, consensus functions and fault tolerance, smart contract functionality, system management stability, chain stability, data volume control, privacy protection, interoperability, event mechanisms, account and transaction types, account classification systems, private key management schemes, interface management, participant management, and audit management. Key testing points include:
◆ Networking methods: Focus on the networking methods and communication mechanisms of the blockchain system, including network topology structure, network security transmission protocols, and network encoding methods;
◆ Data storage: Focus on the block structure of the system’s storage, data storage methods, and data tamper resistance capabilities, including supported database types, on-chain data storage methods, off-chain data storage methods, sensitive data encryption storage mechanisms, and data tamper resistance mechanisms;
◆ Encryption algorithms: Focus on the types of encryption algorithms supported by the system, including international encryption algorithms, national secret algorithms, and advanced encryption algorithms;
◆ Consensus algorithms: Focus on the types of consensus algorithms supported by the system and transaction processing flows, including fraud detection, double-spending attack prevention, crash fault tolerance, and Byzantine fault tolerance;
◆ Smart contract management: Focus on the full lifecycle management of smart contracts, including forward compatibility of smart contracts, smart contract upgrades, cross-contract calls, and multi-party confirmation for contract deployment;
◆ Interoperability: Focus on the interoperability capabilities of the blockchain system, including interoperability between homogeneous chains, interoperability between heterogeneous chains, and off-chain data interoperability;
◆ Stability testing: Focus on the stability of the system when executing different operations, including stability when adding nodes, deleting nodes, upgrading nodes, and long-term operation stability;
◆ Participant management: Focus on certificate management within the system, including dynamic addition of node certificates, dynamic revocation of node certificates, freezing and recovery of node certificates, and permission management schemes for node certificates.
