Hydrogen H2 Alarm System Proteus Simulation Design based on 51 Microcontroller
1. LCD1602 displays the hydrogen alarm value and the detected hydrogen concentration value;
2. The hydrogen alarm value can be adjusted through a button;
3. When the hydrogen concentration is below the alarm value, the green working indicator light is on.
When the hydrogen concentration exceeds the threshold, the buzzer alarms, and the red working indicator light is on;
4. The ADC0832 collects the voltage changes of the sliding potentiometer simulating the hydrogen sensor MQ-8.
Note that the microcontroller chip in the simulation is compatible; AT89C51 and AT89C52 are specific models of the 51 microcontroller, with the same core. In the same schematic, whether STC or AT, the pin functions are the same, the program is compatible, and the chips can be replaced with STC89C52/STC89C51/AT89C52/AT89C51 and other 51 microcontroller chips.

Open the simulation project, double-click the microcontroller in Proteus, select the hex file path, and then start the simulation. After starting the simulation, the LCD1602 displays the current hydrogen concentration, the measurement value is 590ppm, and the alarm value is 600ppm, with the green working indicator light on.

With the deepening development of modern industrial production and scientific research, hydrogen, as an efficient and clean energy carrier and an important chemical raw material, has been widely used in many fields. Especially in the hydrogen energy industry, petrochemical, metallurgy, semiconductor manufacturing, and laboratory environments, the demand for hydrogen is increasing day by day. However, the physical and chemical properties of hydrogen determine that it has a high flammability and explosiveness under certain concentration conditions. Once leaked and reaches a certain concentration ratio, it is very likely to cause fire or even explosion accidents, which can lead to significant property losses and may threaten the safety and health of personnel.
Therefore, establishing an accurate and efficient hydrogen concentration monitoring and early warning system is crucial to ensure that hydrogen in the working environment always remains within a safe threshold. This course design aims to address this practical need by proposing the use of the classic 51 series microcontroller as the control core, combined with the powerful Proteus simulation software for system development and verification. By integrating hardware circuit design and embedded programming technology, we will design a system that can detect hydrogen concentration in real-time and accurately, with intelligent warning functions.

3. Circuit Connection Method: In Proteus simulation, circuit connections can be modified through software settings, while in physical works, modifications require hardware circuit boards and connection lines.
4. Running Speed: Proteus simulation is usually faster than physical works because simulation is based on computer operation, while physical works must consider physical limitations on the circuit board and the response time of devices.
5. Function Implementation: In Proteus simulation, different functions can be implemented through software settings, while in physical works, implementation must be based on circuit design and device performance.
