How to Resolve Module Exception 3 and Module Exception 4?

When encountering module exception issues, apart from returning the device, what else can users do? In fact, not all module exception issues require returning the device. For example, module exception 3 can be resolved easily, while sometimes module exception 4 can be resolved without any action.

Cause Analysis:The household communication set-top box is bound to a smart card one-to-one. If the smart card number inserted into the set-top box does not match the smart card number recorded in the user management system, it will result in “Position Lock Module Exception 3”.

This fault can be specifically divided into the following two situations:

One is that the user or seller mistakenly inserted a smart card from another set-top box into this set-top box;

The other situation is that the card has not been moved, but the worker who holds the employee number has replaced the smart card in the household communication user management system, causing a mismatch between the set-top box and the existing smart card, resulting in “Position Lock Module Exception 3”.

Solution:Have the seller or the employee holding the account number for this machine check in the user management system whether the smart card bound to this set-top box matches the smart card number actually inserted into the set-top box, and then match the corresponding smart card.

Cause Analysis:

Module upgrade failure, module itself is faulty, or module reset circuit failure causes “Position Lock Module Exception 4”.

Solution:

1. If the module upgrade fails, as long as the module is not broken, after the machine is powered on, the set-top box will forcibly upgrade the module. Do not cut the power during the process, just wait for the upgrade to complete.

2. If the module is broken or the module itself is faulty, it needs to be returned for repair.

3. Reset circuit failure can also cause module exceptions during the upgrade process.

4. Relevant circuits can be checked.

5. If the base station information cannot be searched, please contact the installation and maintenance personnel or customer service center.
