The installation method for Multisim is not difficult. You can refer to the WeChat public account “Software Installation Manager” for installation resources and methods. If someone recommends the so-called official student version of Multisim, be cautious. This name seems to imply that it is officially authorized for student use. However, in reality, if you attempt to install it, not only will the installation fail, but you will also be unable to install other versions of Multisim. At this point, you have to consider the issue of reinstallation. Of course, if the installation through other means fails, you will still face the problem of reinstallation.
Reinstallation can indeed be troublesome. Many authors online suggest reinstalling the operating system, but that is not necessary. Through practice, I have found a solution: essentially, it involves deleting the previously installed associated files and NI software. The reason Multisim cannot be reinstalled is that the remnants of previous installations have not been completely removed, preventing a new installation.
Step One: Follow the steps in the images below step by step.
Step Two: Here comes the key point: by following these steps, some files related to Multisim will be deleted. However, this does not remove registry entries or NI software. We still need another tool called the NI Uninstaller. You can search for “NI Uninstaller” online, open it, and you will see the interface shown in the image below.
Then, delete each product one by one (you can only delete one at a time; after each deletion, the computer will require a restart. After restarting, reopen the software and repeat the above operation until everything is deleted). By the way, after deleting in Step One, there should be nothing in the patch section, so you can ignore that. Once everything is deleted, find a reliable installation package and installation tutorial, and proceed step by step to install again without making mistakes. In fact, you might only need to delete all the files you previously downloaded and the files in the installation path before proceeding to Step Two, but I haven’t tried that. I combined the two feasible methods I found and followed the above order to successfully reinstall.
