

Can cars really transform into “automobiles”?
On April 12, FanZhuo Capital served enterprises, and the globally leading automotive-grade chip company【Xinchip Technology】provided a brilliant answer at its brand and E3 Control Chip launch event.

With the launch of its automotive-grade MCU product line,Xinchip’s chip family has completed comprehensive coverage of four major application areas: smart cockpits, autonomous driving, central gateways, and high-performance MCUs.These four series of chip products endow cars with “IQ”, “EQ”, “communication ability”, and “mobility”, transforming them from mere “transportation tools” into intelligent “automobiles”.
It is well known that the “central computing platform” is the trend for future automotive electronic and electrical architectures. As the only domestic chip manufacturer currently able to provide full platform-level solutions compatible with mainstream automakers’ domain control architectures, Xinchip also took the lead in releasing the future-oriented “Xinchip Central Computing Architecture SCCA 1.0” on that day. This architecture supports safe and reliable task deployment while offering flexible system expansion capabilities.


Only with “peace of mind” can we drive freely
Xinchip is a provider of “full-scenario, platform-based” chip products and technical solutions, with four major product series utilizing a common underlying architecture. Xinchip Technology Chairman Zhang Qiang stated that the platform-based integrated design not only significantly reduces R&D costs and time investment but also rapidly enhances automakers’ supply chain flexibility, alleviating the risk of “chip shortages”.
Only with “peace of mind” can we drive freely. The requirements for safety, reliability, and longevity in automotive-grade chips are far higher than those for consumer-grade chips. According to Xinchip Technology CEO Qiu Yujing,Xinchip completed the ISO26262 ASIL D highest functional safety level process certification at the moment of its establishment, and soon after obtained AEC-Q100 reliability certification, ISO26262 functional safety product certification, and national secret certification, becoming the first domestic automotive-grade chip company to achieve the “four certifications in one”.
Currently, Xinchip’s automotive-grade chips have achieved large-scale mass production, serving over 250 customers and covering more than 70% of automotive manufacturers in China.
Fu Bingfeng, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, stated that currently, there is a continuous shortage of global automotive chips, and strengthening the innovation, research, and production of key core chips is a long-term task. “We are also pleased to see companies like Xinchip, which continuously innovate and refine their operations, stand out. In the context of a global chip shortage, Xinchip’s R&D and mass production speed contribute to the automotive industry.”
On that day, well-known automakers such as Great Wall, Changan, FAW, Geely, SAIC, as well as top investment institutions like Jingwei Venture Capital, Huaden International, Lenovo Capital, Sequoia China, Heli Capital, and Pro Capital, all expressed their support for Xinchip, stating that Xinchip is a leading enterprise in automotive-grade semiconductors, continuously surpassing targets and proving its strength, and will continue to support Xinchip’s development in the future.

Four Chips in One: Endowing Cars with Soul
Xinchip Technology’s Chief Architect Sun Mingle introduced in detail the Xinchip products for autonomous driving, smart cockpits, central gateways, and high-performance MCUs at the launch event.

Xinchip’s autonomous driving chip “Driving Core” V9 integrates high-performance CPU, GPU, and AI processing engines. Through a rich set of sensor interfaces, the vehicle can simultaneously collect data from multiple cameras, LiDAR, and millimeter-wave radar, completing the autonomous driving process from perception, localization, planning, decision-making, to control. Based on the V9 processor, Xinchip has also built a fully open autonomous driving platform UniDrive, characterized by low latency, high efficiency, and high safety.
The brain of the future “automobile” will become increasingly advanced, and Xinchip will also launch an autonomous driving processor with a single-chip computing power of 200 TOPS in the second half of the year.
The smart cockpit chip “Cockpit Core” X9 can drive up to 10 high-definition displays simultaneously, including instrument panels, central control, rearview mirrors, and rear entertainment, supporting multi-screen sharing and interaction to meet the functional needs of future smart cockpits. Currently, Xinchip X9 has successfully secured dozens of key models for mass production. It not only covers domestic, joint venture, and new car-making forces but has also begun collaborating with international automakers such as BMW, Volkswagen, and Toyota to explore the future.
As the electronic and electrical architecture shifts from distributed to domain control and central computing, communication and data sharing between various modules in the vehicle are increasing. Xinchip Technology’s central gateway processor “Gateway Core” G9 has rich interfaces, supporting seamless data exchange between different vehicle networks such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet, and can also support access to 5G/C-V2X networks, establishing stable and reliable data channels for high-volume, low-latency information exchange.
On that day, Xinchip also launched its high-performance, high-reliability automotive-grade MCU E3 “Control Core” series products, which can be comprehensively applied in safety-critical applications such as steer-by-wire chassis, brake control, BMS, ADAS/autonomous driving motion control, LCD instrument panels, HUD, and streaming media visual systems CMS. The E3 MCU was designed from the outset with very high stability and safety targets: automotive reliability standards reach AEC-Q100 Grade 1 level, functional safety standards reach ISO 26262 ASIL D level, and it employs a dual-core lock-step Cortex-R5, achieving a diagnostic coverage rate of up to 99%. Even globally, there are very few automotive-grade MCUs that can simultaneously meet these two standards.

In the future, as the electronic and electrical architecture shifts towards central computing, the processing power of MCUs will also need to be rapidly enhanced.Xinchip Technology’s E3 series products have a CPU clock frequency of up to 800 MHz, with up to 6 CPU cores, of which 4 cores can be configured as dual-core lock-step or operate independently, filling the gap in the domestic high-end, high-safety-level automotive-grade MCU market.
E3 “Control Core” has five series (E3600/3400/3200 series, E3300 series, and E3100 series) with flexible configurations, including single-core, dual-core, quad-core, and six-core options, clock frequencies ranging from 300 MHz, 400 MHz, 600 MHz to 800 MHz, integrating rich communication peripheral modules, and built-in hardware accelerators compliant with national secret commercial encryption standards 2/3/4/9, while also supporting both BGA and LQFP packaging.
In the future, Xinchip Technology’s comprehensively laid-out product line will continue to upgrade and iterate, providing a solid foundation for the upgrade of the smart automotive industry.
