Exploring the Relationship Between Photoresistor Current and Light Intensity Using Phyphox and ESP32 Bluetooth

Exploring the Relationship Between Photoresistor Current and Light Intensity Using Phyphox and ESP32 Bluetooth

Recently, we conducted an experiment to explore the relationship between the current of a photoresistor and light intensity. The photoresistor and a voltage divider resistor were connected in series, powered by the 5V output of the ESP32. We used pin IO33 to collect the voltage across the voltage divider resistor and calculated the current through the photoresistor. The current information was transmitted via Bluetooth to the Y-axis of Phyphox, while the light intensity output from the light sensor was sent to the X-axis of Phyphox. This allowed Phyphox to plot the relationship curve between the current of the photoresistor and the light intensity.

From the output curve of Phyphox showing the relationship between the current of the photoresistor and light intensity, it can be seen that the current in the photoresistor increases with the increase of light intensity.

This experiment primarily focused not on the relationship between the current of the photoresistor and light intensity, but rather on the synthesis analysis of the Bluetooth transmitted signal and the signal from Phyphox’s own sensors.

The experiment found that the Bluetooth transmitted signal and the signals obtained from Phyphox’s own sensors can be synthesized and dynamically output. This truly solves the problem of the limited sensors available on smartphones, providing endless possibilities for innovative experiments using smartphones.
