Exploring Activity

On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 14:00, the “milk-v” development board exploration activity was held as scheduled in Room 5B-202 of the School of Computer and Artificial Intelligence, organized by the University Student Network Practice and Innovation Club. This event was hosted by Li Peihong, President of the Wenzhou University Network Practice and Innovation Club, Zeng Zhenming, and Ni Jinwei, Minister of the Science and Technology Competition Department, with active participation from various department members, allowing participating students to personally experience and learn about the use of the development board and kernel compilation.

Before the event began, all participating students signed in to receive the development board, and then, with the help of the network association staff, they started this exploration activity of the development board.

Next, the students successfully logged into the Ubuntu system and learned some basic knowledge related to it. Then, with the help of the teaching materials, they successfully accessed the relevant website for the development board and, with the assistance of the network association staff, performed the “flashing” of the development board. This process was somewhat challenging for the beginners, but with the persistent efforts of all the students, all difficulties were overcome.

As a beginner in this field, I participated in this “milk-v” development board exploration activity mainly out of interest.

Upon arriving at the laboratory and logging into the Ubuntu system, I encountered network connection issues with the computer that took a long time to resolve. However, the seniors were very patient and helped me think of many solutions, allowing me to successfully connect to the server and learn how to specify a server for network connection.

After obtaining the experiment manual, although the content in the manual was very detailed, understanding completely unfamiliar code was indeed quite challenging. During the practical process, I encountered many problems, such as connection failures when downloading components, etc. However, with the help and encouragement of the club’s minister and fellow students, I ultimately understood the general process of image flashing.

In this activity, we experienced flashing images in the Ubuntu system, and I feel that this event organized by the network association is very meaningful, allowing us to truly experience the configuration process of using the development board and deepening our understanding of operating systems.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of experiencing a development board and its flashing experience in Room 5B202, leaving a deep impression on me.

The ease of use of this development board allows beginners to get started easily. The organizers provided a friendly development environment and rich documentation, enabling me to quickly get started and understand related concepts. At the same time, the development board supports multiple programming languages, from C to Python, making development very flexible and convenient.

I am very satisfied with the performance of this development board. During the experience, due to it being my first time, I had many questions and uncertainties, but the staff present responded positively and provided careful guidance. With their help, I successfully completed this experience and learned a lot about the development board. Most importantly, this experience gave me a deeper understanding of the boundaries of technology. In summary, this development board experience has excited me about the endless possibilities of technology and filled me with hope. I believe that with the help of this powerful development board, I will be able to continuously break through and innovate in the world of technology.
