How Much Do You Know About Future City Scenarios? 8 | Enhancing IoT Security
On the road, cars can drive themselves; in factory workshops, robots transport materials according to planned routes; on our wrists, smart bands monitor heart rates in real-time… What is the most essential element for realizing these intelligent scenarios? The answer is the Internet of Things (IoT).
What is IoT? Simply put, IoT is a technology that connects and controls various physical devices through the internet, allowing these devices to operate and interact automatically and intelligently. When we connect cars and robots to the internet through technological means, we can set up programs in the background to control these devices.
Does this mean everything can be connected? In fact, the application scenarios for IoT are very broad; it has already permeated our daily lives. For example, in the smart home field, we can remotely control devices like air conditioners and televisions at home through mobile apps. When leaving home, we can turn off all unnecessary appliances with one click, and when returning home, they can turn on automatically. In agricultural production, deploying sensors and other devices in the fields allows for real-time monitoring of key parameters such as soil moisture, light intensity, and crop growth status, providing data support for agriculture. In the industrial sector, IoT connects and monitors industrial equipment to automate and optimize production processes, improving efficiency and product quality.
With a large number of devices connected to the network, a massive amount of data is generated. If this data is leaked, it not only involves privacy issues but also risks of device intrusion. So, how can we ensure data security? This requires network security technologies and mechanisms to assist, such as device authentication, data encryption, and access control, to protect the security and privacy of IoT systems and data.
At the second Xiong’an Future City Scenario Conference, a special competition for the application of network security technology was set up. One of the tracks focuses on solutions for IoT security, satellite internet security, data security, cloud network security, and security operations.
