Rainbow Optoelectronics has been deeply engaged in cholesteric liquid crystal full-color e-paper technology for many years, accumulating over 200 global patents. As display technology evolves towards low energy consumption, environmental friendliness, and high-value products, related technologies have become significant breakthroughs for the transformation of traditional panels.

Additionally, the integration of optical technologies (such as solar energy and optical sensors) allows for a broader vision of application.

Industry research indicates that in recent years, the global LCD panel market has been oversupplied, leading to fierce price competition, putting traditional panel manufacturers in Taiwan under significant pressure and increasing operational challenges. Meanwhile, display technology is rapidly evolving, and traditional panel manufacturers in Taiwan missed the rise of OLED, now facing competition from overseas manufacturers who are gradually shifting towards AMOLED and QD-OLED, intensifying the pressure for technological upgrades and industry transformation.

Cholesteric liquid crystal e-paper technology, as an emerging energy-saving display technology, is entering from a niche market. It has enormous market development potential in the future, with the advantage of being able to use existing LCD production lines for manufacturing without the need for additional large-scale equipment investment, significantly reducing conversion costs, which aids the transformation of traditional panel manufacturers. Furthermore, in the context of the global low-carbon economy trend, full-color e-paper, with its ultra-low power consumption characteristics, combines the advantages of traditional LCD true full color and wide temperature range, becoming an important display technology for promoting carbon reduction. According to statistics from 2021, if traditional LCD electronic advertising billboards were fully replaced with e-paper industry billboards, it could reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 95% within five years, demonstrating the significant contribution of e-paper technology to environmental sustainability.
