Comprehensive Application Competition for Intelligent Robots
To enhance students’ practical abilities, cultivate innovative awareness, promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence education with multiple disciplines, and guide students to transform theoretical knowledge into projects with practical application value, on September 5th, the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the School of Artificial Intelligence successfully held the finals and award ceremony of the Comprehensive Application Competition for Intelligent Robots in the A2-205a laboratory at the Software Park campus.
This competition integrates multiple fields such as artificial intelligence and communication, serving not only as an important platform for cultivating students’ engineering practice abilities but also injecting new vitality into campus technological innovation. After intense selection in the preliminary rounds, six teams from the 2023 Artificial Intelligence major stood out and advanced to the finals.

The finals invited several judges with rich teaching and industry experience, including Wang Xigang and Jiang Tao from the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.

During the competition, students showcased their talents by utilizing various hardware such as intelligent development boards, Mecanum wheels, laser radars, depth cameras, and microphone arrays, as well as intelligent technologies like image recognition, speech recognition, speech synthesis, and large language models, achieving application-value results such as posture detection robots, fire detection robots, and intelligent guides.

After intense competition, the final award list is as follows:
First Prize: Qi Changsheng Group

Second Prize: Yang Minghao and Quan Xuebin Group

Third Prize: Xue Shizhe, Yang Jingle, and Zhu Jianlin Group

This competition not only provided students with a platform to showcase their innovation and practical abilities but also honed their professional skills and cultivated team collaboration spirit. While the results of the competition are important, what is even more commendable is the growth and breakthroughs achieved by students during the project development. Through the comprehensive application of interdisciplinary technologies, everyone transformed theory into tangible results, fully reflecting the educational value of “learning through competition.” It is hoped that students will take this as a starting point, continuously explore and strive for excellence in their future studies and research, and contribute more youthful strength to the development of the field of artificial intelligence!
