Acroview Programmer Supports Nuvoton's 32-bit USB MCU NUC121ZC2

The chip programming leader Acroview Technology recently announced the latest iteration of its programming software and introduced a series of newly supported chip models. In this update, the 32-bit USB microcontroller NUC121ZC2 from Nuvoton Technology has been supported by Acroview’s universal programmer AP8000.

The NUC121ZC2 is a 32-bit USB microcontroller series that supports a maximum frequency of up to 50MHz, 32KB Flash, 8KB SRAM, 12-bit ADC, built-in 48MHz high-precision high-speed RC oscillator, and supports USB transmission without an external crystal (Crystal-less), along with 17 PWM/B PWM channels, making the NUC121ZC2 quite efficient in USB transmission and control processing.

The NUC121ZC2 supports an industrial-grade operating temperature range (-40℃~105℃) and a wide operating voltage (2.5V~5.5V) with high anti-interference capability (8kV ESD, 4kV EFT), and is available in a QFN33 package.

The NUC121ZC2 also includes an additional security protection Flash block (SPROM, Security Protection ROM), providing an independent and secure encrypted execution area to protect developers’ intellectual property.

Overall Block Diagram

The AP8000 universal programmer developed by Acroview Technology supports both online/offline versions with one-to-one and one-to-eight configurations, as well as dedicated programming solutions for eMMC and UFS, covering all chip models in Nuvoton’s series for bare chip (offline) and on-board programming needs. The AP8000 consists of three core components: host, baseboard, and adapter. As a universal programming platform in the industry, the AP8000 is not only capable of programming all types of programmable chips on the market but is also the core programming platform for Acroview’s automated batch programming device IPS5800S, responsible for efficiently executing large-scale programming tasks.

The host also supports USB and NET connections, enabling networking of multiple programmers to synchronize control of programming operations. The built-in safety protection circuit can instantly detect abnormal situations such as reversed or short-circuited chips and immediately cut off power to ensure the safety of the chip and programmer. The host integrates a high-speed FPGA, significantly improving data transmission and processing speed. The back of the host is equipped with an SD card slot, allowing users to save project files generated by PC software to the root directory of the SD card and insert it into the slot. By pressing a button on the programmer, users can select, load, and execute programming commands without relying on a PC, which not only reduces PC hardware configuration costs but also facilitates rapid establishment of the working environment.

The AP8000 enhances the host’s expansion capabilities significantly through the combination design of the baseboard and adapter board, currently supporting products from all major semiconductor manufacturers, covering brands such as GigaDevice, Joulwatt, MindMotion, HISILICON, CHIPSEA, etc. The supported device types include NAND, NOR, MCU, CPLD, FPGA, EMMC, etc., and are compatible with various file formats such as Intel Hex, Motorola S, Binary, POF.
