1. Vehicle Introduction
The Volkswagen Touareg, as a mid-to-large luxury SUV, features a grand and stable appearance, with a wide front grille paired with sharp headlights, showcasing its dominance. The interior space is spacious, with comfortable seats that offer various adjustment functions, and the interior is made of high-quality materials, creating a luxurious atmosphere. The sound insulation performance is excellent, effectively isolating external noise. However, the original car audio system struggles to meet the needs of owners seeking an ultimate music experience, making an audio upgrade imperative.
2. Configuration List
Front Speaker: UT-6.3
Rear Speaker: UT-6.2
Amplifier: UT-VK4
Audio Processor: DSP X16
3. Installation Process
Before the upgrade, a professional team used circuit testing equipment to check for electrical hazards in the Touareg, ensuring stable power supply. At the same time, they utilized acoustic instruments to analyze the acoustic characteristics of the vehicle’s interior, measuring the positions of seats and speakers to develop a personalized upgrade plan.
When installing the UT-6.3 front speakers, the technician removed the door trim, cleaned the installation area, and secured the installation with washers and sealing materials to reduce resonance. High-quality audio cables were used to connect the amplifier and were organized and secured during wiring.
The installation of the UT-6.2 rear speakers followed the same procedure.
For the installation of the UT-VK4 amplifier, the technician installed it under the driver’s seat, secured it with vibration-damping pads, and connected the input and output lines, routing them through concealed channels.
When installing the DSP X16 audio processor, the technician placed it under the passenger seat, secured it, connected the input and output lines, and organized the wiring.
After installation, the technician used audio testing software and acoustic instruments to play various styles of music for tuning. They first calibrated the speakers using pink noise to ensure volume balance. For different music styles, they adjusted relevant parameters through the DSP X16, while the UT-VK4 was adjusted for power, and delay parameters were modified to create a surround sound effect.
4. Modification Review
After the upgrade, the audio effect of the Touareg was significantly enhanced. When playing pop music, the singer’s voice was delicate; classical music showcased distinct layers of instruments; and rock music delivered strong rhythms and impactful bass. From the installation results, the placement of each device was reasonable, not affecting the interior use and aesthetics, and the wiring connections were standardized, ensuring the stability of the audio system and the safety of the vehicle. This upgrade fully utilized the performance of the equipment, creating a high-quality music space for the owner and greatly enhancing the driving experience.
