Project Proposal

Upgrading Protection for Precision Rolling Mill Sensor Connections

Implementation Process
Due to the high precision requirements of the flat-rolling mill and the numerous control sensors, the rolling mill must be disassembled during each offline roll change, and the sensor lines must also be disconnected. After a long period of frequent disassembly and reassembly, the original sensor quick-connect plugs became loose, reducing their protective effectiveness. Water ingress into the quick-connect plugs can easily lead to short circuits and sensor damage, causing thermal shutdown of on-site equipment and affecting stable production. Additionally, the high cost of sensors increases spare part costs. To address this, Yu Zengchun purchased waterproof locking clips and waterproof plastic cups for quick-connect plugs and cable lines from Taobao, collaborating with the staff from the preparation and electromechanical sections to upgrade the existing quick-connect plugs and lines without them, adding waterproof plastic cups for secondary waterproofing.

Implementation Results

The upgraded results are visually appealing, with organized lines and good waterproofing. Currently, all rolling mills are undergoing modifications.
