What does certification mean? After certification, the Pi will receive tested updates and security patches every three weeks. The official explanation states, “When users purchase a certified board (Raspberry Pi) and install Ubuntu, they can be assured that Canonical has conducted thousands of tests to ensure Ubuntu works properly.”

In addition to the official patches and security updates, comprehensive support also means that Canonical will conduct continuous regression testing on each Pi throughout the lifecycle of the Ubuntu version, ensuring compliance with its quality standards.

In summary, Canonical states, “All of this is to ensure that users running Ubuntu on Raspberry Pi can have the best security experience.”
