The light and shadow image work titled “Energy Field 09” is a live projection mapping performed by artist Philipp Frank on the “Heart-Shaped Giant Rock” at Preveli Beach in Crete. It is part of his “Rock Lights” series, which projects captivating video images onto the giant stones of nature.
Philipp Frank, born in 1978 in Munich, Germany, emphasizes the fusion of art, technology, and nature in his works. He often draws inspiration from nature, geometry, and the cosmos, utilizing techniques such as light sculpture projection and video mapping to seamlessly integrate images with the environment, creating a visual experience where reality and the virtual coexist.
Frank and his studio conduct art creation globally, aiming to “bring light to darkness” and reveal the hidden frequencies of nature through light and shadow. He wants to “help the audience rediscover things they are familiar with but have never truly seen.”
