The Second AI Robot Science Exhibition in Datong

As the last batch of visitors left the He Yang Art Museum with smiles of satisfaction, and the lights of the robots in the exhibition area slowly dimmed, the 19-day Second AI Robot Science Exhibition in Datong came to a successful conclusion in the gentle breeze of early autumn. From its opening on August 8 to its closing, this technological event was like a “date with the future,” allowing the ancient city of Datong to collide with intelligent technology, leaving behind countless warm and shocking moments.

01. Entering the Exhibition Area: Every Step is a “Wow” Moment

As you walk in, the sense of “technology” becomes increasingly strong: underwater simulation fish swim freely in a transparent tank, sometimes teaming up to navigate, sometimes exploring alone; in front of the traditional Chinese medicine pulse diagnosis robot, Ms. Li, a local resident, curiously extends her wrist, and the robot’s “finger” gently rests on her pulse. A few seconds later, it generates a basic health analysis. “It’s amazing, the robot can understand traditional Chinese medicine!” Ms. Li couldn’t help but exclaim.
The most lively area is the interactive experience zone. In front of the fighting robotic arm, children line up to control the robot battles with joysticks under the guidance of staff; at the chess robot table, several elderly gentlemen take turns “challenging” the robot, and although they occasionally get “checkmated,” their faces are filled with smiles; there is also a drawing robot that can create unique patterns like Nezha and Buddha’s little companion with simple commands, becoming a “personal souvenir” for many.

02. University Showdown: Witnessing the “Power of Future Technology”

In addition to the fun robot displays, the hosting of the 18th International Advanced Robotics and Simulation Technology Competition (Datong Station) added a more “hardcore” element to this science exhibition. Teams from top universities across the country, including Peking University, Harbin Institute of Technology, and Northeast University, brought their meticulously developed robots to compete fiercely, providing the audience with a high-level technological showdown.
“I didn’t realize that robot technology is so advanced now!” said Mr. Zhang, a local resident who brought his child to watch the competition. “I hope my child can feel the charm of technology through this competition and develop a love for scientific exploration in the future.” It is reported that during the competition, an average of over a thousand spectators came to watch each day, getting close to cutting-edge technology.

03. Warm Echoes: Technology Brings More Vitality to the Ancient City

During the 19 days, the He Yang Art Museum became one of the most popular “check-in spots” in Datong. Whether on weekends or weekdays, the exhibition area was always bustling with people, including families, students, and elderly tourists… People of different ages found their own enjoyment here.
In addition to the hot offline attendance, online interest remained high. Topics like #Datong AI Robot Science Exhibition# and #Ancient Capital Meets Robots# continued to gain traction on social media, with many netizens sharing their exhibition photos and videos. Some even asked online, “How do robots learn to dance?” and “How does the robotic arm work?” creating a wave of science popularization that linked online and offline.

04. Farewell is Not the End: Looking Forward to More Technological Surprises in Datong

As the exhibition came to a close, many visitors were still reminiscing about the wonderful moments. This science exhibition not only allowed the citizens of Datong to get close to cutting-edge technology but also created a wonderful chemical reaction between the ancient city and the intelligent future—inside the ancient He Yang Art Museum, the robot’s electronic eyes captured the beauty of flying eaves and bracket sets; within the rich ancient city culture, the fresh vitality of technology was integrated.
As the person in charge of this exhibition said: “We hope that through such science exhibitions, more people can understand and love technology, and let the outside world see that Datong not only has a profound historical culture but also a vibrant technological energy.” In the future, Datong will continue to promote the integration of technology and culture, hosting more high-quality technological events, allowing the light of technology to illuminate every corner of the ancient city.
Although the Second AI Robot Science Exhibition has ended, the exploration of technology never stops. Let us look forward to the next beautiful encounter between Datong and technology, unlocking more “future possibilities” together!
