Every day, the first thing I do when I wake up is browse Xianyu; I don’t even bother opening Taobao. Xianyu always surprises me with something new. While browsing, I discovered a great tool that can quickly locate short circuit positions on circuit boards.The rosin vaporizer family includes a brush, vaporizer, charging cable, instruction manual, and a box of rosin.
The rosin vaporizer is a tool that vaporizes liquid rosin into a mist through electric heating. The heating wire is the key component that conducts electrical energy and converts it into thermal energy. The heating wire is usually made of special materials, commonly ceramics or nickel-chromium alloys.
When the rosin vaporizer is powered on, the heating wire generates heat driven by the current, heating the liquid rosin to its boiling point and gradually vaporizing it into a sprayable mist. This feels very similar to another electronic cigarette I have disassembled (click here to review).
Crush the rosin into small pieces and place them into the heating core. After preheating for a few seconds, let the rosin melt a bit and stick to the heating wire, then cover it with a glass cover and use it normally.
Since the short circuit area generates a lot of heat, it will turn the vaporized rosin back into liquid, allowing for quick localization of the short circuit position.
This small tool accomplishes big tasks; otherwise, finding such short circuits would take a long time, or one would have to use a thermal imaging camera, which is too costly. I’ve heard that some people even use facial detection methods? I don’t know if that’s true
