Recently, after changing to a new monitor, I found that my 1.2 desktop couldn’t fit two monitors. It felt a bit too “crowded” to squeeze them in, so I planned to use one monitor + a portable screen + a mini PC. This way, I could achieve dual-screen usage. More importantly, the usability of a portable screen is much more flexible than that of a desktop monitor, making it more convenient and portable. So today, I want to share my thoughts on portable screens.
First of all, why choose a portable screen?
It is mainly compact and convenient, taking up no space wherever placed, and it can be carried around. It can work with different devices, such as phones, game consoles, laptops, and desktops, easily transforming a small screen into a large one, and it can also be used as a second auxiliary screen. Secondly, portable screens now have resolutions and colors that rival desktop monitors, providing a display quality that is more high-definition and delicate than that of laptops.
So I purchased the 15.6-inch new generation OLED screen CFORCE CF015 Next portable screen. Its size is just right for easy carrying, featuring 4K high-definition quality, 100% DCI-P3 cinema-level color gamut, and 1.07 billion colors, creating a master-level color calibration large screen. With a brightness of 550 nits, it is also blue light-free and flicker-free, supporting a single C cable connection to most external display devices, making it truly useful.
Next, let’s get to know this screen.
The appearance is very similar to that of a laptop screen. Although it has reached a size of 15.6 inches, thanks to the narrow ID bezels, the absence of a battery, and the keyboard design, it is not much different from a 14-inch laptop.
Speaking of batteries, there are various opinions on the market regarding whether having a battery is good or not. Personally, I think everyone has their preferences. A battery is good for travel, as it can be used without being plugged in, reducing the hassle of carrying cables, but it does consume power, which can be a hassle, especially with high-definition large screens. Without a battery, the lifespan of the device may be longer, as batteries can drain the machine, and there are also potential risks associated with having a battery. Moreover, it adds weight, so for home use where portability is less of a concern, a battery-free design is more reasonable.
The most familiar usage method should be with a laptop, as the screen size is what we are most accustomed to. Therefore, the 15.6-inch size is the most suitable for our visual coverage, benefiting from the use of the new generation OLED screen of the CFORCE CF015 Next, achieving a 4K 3840*2160 ultra-high-definition resolution. The display quality is extremely clear and natural, combined with master-level color calibration, reaching 100% DCI-P3 cinema-level color gamut and 1.07 billion colors, presenting more delicate details without any blurriness or color distortion.
The precision in color control is enhanced by master-level picture calibration, allowing every detail of the image to be accurately calibrated, making it suitable for the needs of photo editors and video editors. For commuting use, the CFORCE CF015 also boasts a brightness of up to 550 nits, ensuring that the display remains clear even in bright daylight, making it undoubtedly the flagship product of the current CFORCE product line.
Compared to previous generations of products, CFORCE has equipped this model with a higher quality protective case, a fully fitted back shell, and steel hinge materials at contact points, making it more stable when folded and fixed as a stand. It can be placed on the table in any suitable position, eliminating the need to choose a stand. It is not only portable but also effectively protects the screen.
