The Chinese Dragon

Hello everyone

Today I want to talk about a very special animal – The Chinese Dragon.

The Chinese Dragon is also called “loong” in Chinese.

It is an imaginative creature in Chinese mythology.

The Chinese Dragon is different from the western dragon.

The western dragon is an evil beast whereas the Chinese dragon is a

auspicious creature.

It can bring a good year and prosperity to people. /prɒsˈper.ə.ti/

The Chinese Dragon was born in China a long time ago.

It combines the features of many animals: a camel’s head,

a buck’s antlers, a snake’s body, a fish’s scales, and an eagle’s claws.

In ancient times, the Chinese dragon was closely associated with natural forces.

People believed that it could control the wind and rain.

It is also a symbol of heroism, power, and royal dignity in China.

Emperors of all the dynasties claimed to be the son of the dragon and heaven.

For thousands of years, the Chinese Dragon has been admired by people and represents the spirit of the Chinese nation.

Chinese people call themselves “descendants of the dragon”.

The Chinese Dragon is also related to the Chinese zodiac.

It ranks as the fifth member of the twelve animals.

Those born in the year of the dragon are said to have qualities of the dragon such as bravery, hard work, and ambition.

In many places, it is a custom to perform the “dragon dance” on days of celebration.

People believe it will bring good luck for the whole year.

The Chinese Dragon is inseparable from the history of the Chinese people.

To embrace the Chinese dragon is to celebrate Chinese culture.

That’s all. Thank you for listening.

Let’s take a look at this issue’s young broadcaster

The Chinese Dragon

My name is Wang Rucong, from Class 1, Grade 6. I am usually a lively and cheerful student who enjoys thinking, especially with a strong interest in learning English. I believe that English is a very important language; it not only helps us understand the world but also lays a solid foundation for future learning and work.

In the process of learning English, I always maintain a serious and focused attitude. Every day, I take time to memorize words, practice speaking, and read English articles. I particularly enjoy reading original English storybooks, which not only improves my reading ability but also allows me to feel the charm of different cultures.

Besides English, I also pay attention to learning in other subjects because I think comprehensive development is very important. I believe that as long as I maintain a serious learning attitude and persistent effort, I will definitely achieve better results in my future studies.

This is me, a student who loves learning, especially taking English seriously. I hope to progress and grow together with everyone in the upcoming learning journey!
