At the agricultural technology demonstration field of 855 Farm, rows of IoT monitoring devices shimmer under the sun, tirelessly “guarding” the vast fields. These smart devices collect and analyze agricultural data in real-time, equipping agricultural production with a “smart brain” and opening a new chapter in precise and efficient modern agriculture.

“This set of IoT devices can be considered the ‘doctors’ of the fields,” said Gao Weiwei from the Agricultural Technology Service Center of 855 Farm, pointing to the equipment in the fields. “The meteorological collection devices act like ‘listening ears’, capturing temperature, humidity, and other meteorological data in real-time; the pest monitoring lamps and spore capture devices can monitor pest movements and pathogen spores 24/7. By monitoring the ‘five conditions’ of seedlings, weeds, diseases, pests, and soil moisture in real-time, we can implement precise strategies based on the data, significantly improving production efficiency.

It is reported that the IoT monitoring system introduced by 855 Farm integrates cutting-edge IoT technologies such as meteorology, light, soil, water quality, and automated equipment control, constructing core modules like micro-meteorological integration systems, soil information monitoring systems, video surveillance, and automated control systems. Every set of data collected by the field sensors is transmitted to the cloud data center in real-time at minute-level frequency, forming a digital archive that covers the entire agricultural production cycle, truly achieving the transition from “experience-based farming” to “data-driven farming”.
Currently, the farm has established 22 smart weather stations, 4 pest monitoring lamps, 2 spore capture devices, and deployed 55 sets of fixed real-time monitoring equipment in the fields, complemented by a precise meteorological network and automated patrol drones, creating a comprehensive and three-dimensional agricultural monitoring network. Inside the farm’s digital command center, large screens display real-time data maps of soil moisture and crop growth, allowing agricultural technicians to make scientific decisions in agricultural production through data analysis with just a click of the mouse.
In the next step, 855 Farm will focus on advancing the iterative upgrade of digital agricultural infrastructure, building a kilometer-level meteorological network covering the entire area, accelerating the construction of unmanned farms, exploring digital agricultural twin systems, and developing precise agricultural fertilization systems, empowering the creation of a new model for modern agricultural development and injecting strong momentum into the construction of the “three major and one aircraft carrier” in Beidahuang.
