Yesterday, we reviewed some materials from the NV official website regarding Jetson—Secrets of NVIDIA Jetson Development Revealed: Many Are Still Unaware (Part I), today we will continue to look at several documents.
L4T Sample Root File System and L4T Sources
The L4T sample Root file system contains various library files. Since it is a sample, you can rewrite it into your own file system.
The L4T Sources include all the source code for BSP 28.2, including the Kernel, U-boot, and GStreamer source code. Please refer to the GStreamer user manual mentioned yesterday to study this source code (GStreamer is an open-source multimedia framework for building streaming media applications, aimed at simplifying the development of audio/video applications).
Jetson TX1-TX2 Module EEPROM Layout
This contains the ID record data for the Jetson TX1/TX2 module, informing users where to find stored data such as the WiFi MAC address, which can be modified by the user.
Jetson TX2 Platform Adaptation and Bring-Up Guide
This document is intended for software developers working with the Jetson TX2 module. It explains how to port the Tegra® Linux driver package and U-Boot bootloader from the NVIDIA® Jetson™ TX1 development board to other hardware platforms equipped with the Jetson TX2 hardware module.
For example, this document introduces the pin multiplexing table:
Jetson TX2 Module Pinmux
This spreadsheet describes how the SoC Ball names are mapped and configured to the module’s Pin names, supporting the generation of device trees. For more details, refer to the L4T Documents on configuring Pinmux, GPIO, and PAD.
Jetson Camera Module Hardware Design Guide
This guide is for developers who wish to design camera modules on the Jetson development board. The content is quite rich and comprehensive, and it is recommended for those looking to develop their own camera modules to download and review it, as many have previously asked me how to get started.
Jetson TX1-TX2 Developer Kit Carrier Board Design Files
This file package is very rich in content! It includes:
-
Concept schematics
-
Concept schematic design files
-
OrCAD schematics
-
OrCAD schematic design files
-
Allegro layout file
-
Allegro layout ASCII extract
-
PCB stackup
-
PCB assembly drawing
-
ValorODB++ database
-
Gerber files
It is also recommended that all developers download and carefully review this! Especially those who are going to create their own carrier boards or enclosures, as it contains dimension drawings in PDF format!
It truly embodies self-reliance and abundance.
Jetson TX1-TX2 Developer Kit Carrier Board Specification
This document contains recommendations and guidelines for development engineers to create modules for expansion connectors on the Jetson TX1/TX2 carrier board, as well as to understand the functionality of other dedicated interface connectors and related power solutions on the platform—just looking at this introduction shows it is packed with valuable information! It is also strongly recommended that after obtaining the development board, you first download this document to understand what you have in hand!
This concludes Lady’s compilation for now, wishing every developer who receives a Jetson development board in the new year can achieve their development goals.
If you encounter basic issues, please first consult the official documentation!
