IDC predicts that China’s IoT spending will reach $251.5 billion by 2029
On June 6, IDC released the “Global IoT Spending Guide,” predicting the scale of global IoT spending, analyzing it by country and region across three dimensions: technology, industry, and application scenarios. IDC data shows that China’s IoT spending is expected to reach $165.86 billion in 2025, a 13.7% increase from 2023. With strong policy support, huge market demand, and the integration of new technologies, the IoT will continue to develop in the future, accelerating the digital transformation and intelligent change processes across various industries, injecting lasting momentum into industrial upgrades.

On June 6, IDC released the “Global IoT Spending Guide,” predicting the scale of global IoT spending, analyzing it by country and region across three dimensions: technology, industry, and application scenarios. IDC data shows that China’s IoT spending is expected to reach $165.86 billion in 2025, a 13.7% increase from 2023. With strong policy support, huge market demand, and the integration of new technologies, the IoT will continue to develop in the future, accelerating the digital transformation and intelligent change processes across various industries, injecting lasting momentum into industrial upgrades.

The establishment of the IoT Standardization Technical Committee by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology
On July 2, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held the founding conference of the IoT Standardization Technical Committee (hereinafter referred to as the “IoT Standardization Committee”) in Beijing. The committee is mainly responsible for the formulation and revision of industry standards in the fields of IoT applications, key technologies, and construction and operation maintenance.

Huawei, ZTE, and others share new trends in IoT at the IOTE forum
From June 18 to 20, the 23rd International IoT Exhibition – Shanghai Station was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, themed “Ecological Intelligence, Global IoT,” attracting over 500 industry chain enterprises to exhibit, covering all fields including chip design, sensors, communication modules, and system integration. At the IOTE sub-forum, companies like Huawei and ZTE shared the latest developments and trends in 5G-A cellular passive IoT, eSIM, and more.

China Mobile launches “AI + IoT” and “Satellite IoT” series products
On June 18, during the 2025 Shanghai World Mobile Communication Conference, China Mobile launched the “AI + IoT” series products, promoting the transformation of production methods from technology construction to value realization in four aspects of “perception intelligence”: in communication, by continuously enhancing 5G coverage to provide extreme performance and connection assurance for AI; in perception, launching two AI modules, 351A and 373Q, to support the upgrade of high-computing power terminals like intelligent robots; in intelligence, launching the IoT AIoT platform, deeply integrating cutting-edge AI capabilities such as large models and multimodal interaction with over 1 billion connections; and in value, launching the “Collective Intelligence” ecological cooperation plan to provide industry partners with one-stop services from R&D to sales.
