Qicheng Automation Training was established in 2012, focusing on training programs for Siemens PLC programming system integration, industrial robot programming, EPLAN electrical design, vision, and other training and technical services. In 2016, we invested to create a craftsman talent network, recommending high-paying jobs, where the harder you work, the luckier you become.
The application of PLC in industry is increasing, and as industrial equipment becomes more reliant on PLCs, the demand for remote programming and debugging of PLCs using programming software, as well as uploading and downloading programs to achieve remote control of PLCs, is growing.
PLC Control System: Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) uses a type of programmable memory to store programs internally, execute logical operations, sequential control, timing, counting, and arithmetic operations, and through digital or analog input/output control various types of machinery or production processes.
The Industrial IoT gateway uses VPN for secure remote communication, achieving remote control of PLCs. This not only ensures that PLC data is transmitted in isolation from the ordinary internet but also guarantees that PLC data is transmitted directly to the monitoring room without going through a cloud server. This reduces the load on the cloud server and further ensures the security of PLC data. The system uses PLC as the core for device control and PLC remote monitoring gateway as the data remote collection terminal.
The Industrial IoT gateway collects PLC programs and operating parameters to monitoring terminals such as PC and LED screens through various communication methods like 3G, 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet. Relying on the programming software of the monitoring terminal, remote operations on PLC can be achieved as follows:
1. Remote programming and debugging of PLC;
2. Online monitoring of PLC;
3. Online simulation of PLC;
4. Uploading and downloading PLC programs;
5. Remote data collection from PLC;
6. Remote control of PLC devices;
7. Remote online monitoring and programming of PLC;
8. Remote control of PLC devices;
9. Centralized management of devices;
10. Parameter threshold warning;
11. Fault warning and intelligent analysis decision-making.
Utilizing the PLC remote control gateway and PLC communication module for remote control of PLCs allows for real-time maintenance of devices from a distance, improving the overall preventive and remote diagnostic capabilities of enterprises against equipment failures.
The following functions can also be achieved through the industrial internet platform:
1. SMS alarm function, when a device malfunctions, it can send an alarm SMS, and can also be set to make a phone call or send SMS notifications, ensuring equipment safety reliably and realizing unattended operation. Only very simple settings are needed in the module, and no programming is required in the PLC, nor is it necessary to re-download the PLC program.
2. Accessing web pages via mobile phones or computers to directly monitor PLC variable states, achieving control of PLCs over the internet.
3. Remote wireless monitoring between configuration software and PLC, allowing remote monitoring of multiple PLCs or instruments that support Modbus communication through configuration software, enabling centralized monitoring over long distances via GPRS, 4G, or 5G networks.
4. Remote downloading and monitoring of PLC programs. When a device malfunctions, as long as your computer or mobile phone is connected to the internet, you can access your PLC anytime and anywhere to modify programs and monitor program maintenance of the device.
5. Short-distance wireless communication between multiple PLCs. If multiple PLCs are located within the same factory, short-distance wireless communication can be achieved.
6. Remote wireless communication between multiple PLCs, for example, achieving data exchange transmission between PLCs located in Shanghai and Changsha. They can be PLCs from the same manufacturer or from different manufacturers.
