Yesterday morning, Qualcomm suddenly released a 4G SoC – the Snapdragon 678. As the name suggests, the Snapdragon 678 is an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 675, which is the processor used in the Redmi Note 7 Pro. It can be said that the Snapdragon 675/678 is similar in nature to the Snapdragon 765/768.
In terms of specifications, the Snapdragon 678 is built on a 11nm LPP process technology,with a CPU using the Cortex A76 architecture and a clock speed of 2.2GHz (the Snapdragon 675 is 2.0GHz). The GPU is integrated with Adreno 612; it uses the sameSnapdragon X12 LTE modem as the 675, supporting downlink speeds of 600Mbps and uplink speeds of 150Mbps.
As for other features, the Snapdragon 678 integrates the Spectra 250L ISP and Hexagon 685 DSP, supports a maximum resolution of 2520*1080, a maximum of 48MP main camera and 16MP front camera, and supports4K 30fps video recording, among other capabilities.
The Snapdragon 675 has not been heard of in new devices for quite some time.It is estimated that the Snapdragon 678 will be more focused on the global market.
