Since January 15, NVIDIA released the upgraded Jetson NANO development kit, we finally got the physical product today, four days later.
I’m sure some users are asking: How do I know if I bought the first or second generation?
Look at the outer packaging:
Let’s take a look at the physical product:
The second generation NANO has no size difference from the first generation, so the casing used for the first generation NANO is interchangeable. The interfaces are the same, except for —
Yes, the second generation NANO has two CSI interfaces, allowing for two CSI cameras to be connected!
Another difference is that NVIDIA ships it with a jumper cap installed, so when using a DC power supply, you don’t need to find a jumper cap separately. Does this mean that NV also thinks using a DC power supply is more stable?
Let’s take a look at the interface diagram of the first and second generations (the first generation is version A02, the second generation is version B01):
The 【J41】40-Pin Header is exactly the same, the position hasn’t changed.
Note that the 【J51】button header is located under the module.
Some people ask if the second generation NANO development kit module comes with 16G eMMC? The answer is no, the B01 version module still needs to install the system via a TF card.
In other aspects, there is no difference from the first generation, and software development is also universal, with no compatibility issues. In fact, aside from the camera, there really is not much difference.
Of course, the second generation development kit’s carrier board is likely to be compatible with the NX module that will be released in March, so this point is quite worth looking forward to.
Finally, let me reiterate: The NANO development kit has a one-year warranty, please keep all packaging including the anti-static bag for at least one year. Do not have any external damage during use.
Before the Spring Festival, we still have a small amount of second generation Jetson NANO development kits for sale in our store, please click to read the original text (recommended for existing NANO users to purchase, new users are advised to buy after the Spring Festival – why is this recommended? Because you still need to prepare many accessories, such as cameras, DC power supplies, TF cards, etc., and these spare parts suppliers are likely already on holiday)..
