The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the “Guiding Opinions on Optimizing Business Access to Promote the Development of the Satellite Communication Industry” on the 27th.

China’s Version of Starlink ‘National Grid’ Rapid Network Deployment, Four Satellites Launched in August
The ‘National Grid’ (GW) constellation aims to build a global low Earth orbit satellite communication network that can compete with SpaceX’s ‘Starlink’. Four low Earth orbit satellites have been launched this month, accelerating network deployment.
From August 4 to 26, within 22 days, four groups of low Earth orbit satellite internet experimental satellites successfully entered their designated orbits.
On August 4 at 18:21, the Long March 12 rocket successfully launched the low Earth orbit satellite internet group 07.
On August 13 at 14:43, the Long March 5B rocket/Yuan Zheng 2 upper stage successfully launched the low Earth orbit satellite internet group 08.
On August 17 at 22:15, the Long March 6 modified rocket successfully launched the low Earth orbit satellite internet group 09.
On August 26 at 3:08, the Long March 8A rocket successfully launched the low Earth orbit satellite internet group 10.

Mobile Direct Satellite Services Accelerate Popularization, Detailed Explanation of Future ‘Integration of Heaven and Earth’
A relevant person from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology introduced that China will orderly promote the opening of satellite communication services in phases and steps. The reform measures mainly focus on three aspects:
First, support the accelerated development of low Earth orbit satellite internet, driving collaborative innovation across the industry chain, and achieving global broadband network coverage;
Second, support telecom operators in developing terminal devices that directly connect to satellites, fully utilizing high and low Earth orbit satellite resources through co-construction and sharing, and accelerating the extension of satellite communication applications from specialized fields to the general public;
Third, organize commercial trials for satellite IoT, research and establish new types of satellite communication services, and further expand access for private enterprises.
In the future, satellite communication will integrate with terrestrial mobile communication, widely applied in various industries and fields such as mobile phones, automobiles, and drones, becoming an important engine for the development of new productive forces.
