To enrich the spiritual and cultural life of the elderly, promote traditional handicrafts, and foster neighborhood harmony, recently, New Tang Village in Dayan Township, in collaboration with the township government and elderly service institutions, organized a series of diverse cultural activities for seniors, allowing them to feel warmth and care amidst laughter and joy.

Chess and Card Competitions Showcase Talent, Discussing Life in the Sunset Years
New Tang Village held the “Silver Age Gathering: Chess and Card Friendship Competition” at the village cultural activity center, attracting over 20 enthusiastic elderly participants. The atmosphere at the event was lively, with seniors making friends through card games and chess, honing their skills and deepening relationships in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Practical prizes such as laundry detergent and towels were prepared for participants, combining fun competitions with material rewards, allowing seniors to return home with joy and satisfaction.

Skillful Hands Weaving Traditions, Zongzi Fragrance Welcoming the Dragon Boat Festival

As the Dragon Boat Festival approaches, New Tang Village organized a “Joyful Festival Together: Handcrafting for the Dragon Boat Festival” weaving activity, gathering over 10 elderly women. During the event, the seniors learned and exchanged weaving techniques, with bamboo weaving flowing through their fingers, showcasing the unique charm of traditional handicrafts. The activity not only conveyed the warmth of the festival through the fragrance of zongzi but also prepared zongzi gifts for participants, allowing them to feel the rich festive atmosphere and social care in advance. This event built an interactive platform for seniors to pass on their skills while cultivating their life sentiments through collaboration and communication.

In recent years, New Tang Village has continuously focused on the needs of the elderly community, organizing a variety of cultural and sports activities such as handicrafts, chess, and arts, allowing seniors to enjoy life and contribute, further enhancing their sense of happiness and fulfillment. Moving forward, New Tang Village will continue to integrate various resources, launch more heartwarming service projects, and vigorously promote a new trend of respecting and loving the elderly in rural areas, injecting more vitality into the promotion of rural cultural revitalization and cultivating a civilized rural atmosphere.
