Below are methods to export video files from storage devices.

Method 1Exporting Video via NVR GUI

For hard drive recordings from the recorder, you can use the recording clipping and export functions. By inserting a USB flash drive or external hard drive into the recorder’s USB port, you can directly export the video files. There are two methods: clipping export and file export.

Note:The video files exported quickly retain the original audio format, which may not be playable on some tools; the compatible exported video files have their audio converted to a format suitable for various playback software.

Method 2Exporting Video via Client Software

The TP-LINK security client software supports exporting recordings from SD cards of most camera models and some models of recorders to a computer. Currently, it only supports exporting recordings from devices added via a local area network and does not support remote export.

Note:Most wireless cameras support client export of SD card recordings; please ensure the camera firmware is up to date; some recorders support client export of hard drive recordings, such as:TL-NVR6102C-W20.

Method 3Exporting Video via Security APP

The mobile security APP version 2.10 (to be released) supports online downloading of wireless camera SD card recordings to the mobile APP album, allowing a maximum of 10 minutes of video to be selected for export at a time.

Note:The mobile APP currently does not support remote export of recorder hard drive recordings.

Method 4Copying Files from SD Card

Remove the SD card from the camera and connect it to a computer via a card reader to copy the files. However, note that the SD card contains many MP4 video files, and you can determine which specific time points to copy based on the file names. For example:Video files starting with 2019 contain video storage, while those starting with xxxx do not.
