The mini 2mm bare chip size makes it suitable for portable devices with limited space, such as AR/VR glasses that monitor eye movement. Eye movement data can be used to adjust the displayed images, enhancing the AR/VR experience. Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) is another important application where the RV400’s small size and low power consumption play a critical role.
Recently, Raycore Microelectronics released the mini high-speed image sensor RV400 for AI and machine vision. The RV400 is a high-speed low-power image sensor with a target size of 1/9 inch, a resolution of 500H*500V, and employs a 2.8um BSI high-sensitivity near-infrared enhanced pixel design. The RV400 operates at a frame rate of 120fps with a power consumption of only 25mW and at a frame rate of 400fps with only 48mW. Meanwhile, its package size is only 2mm x 2mm, increasing the light-sensitive area by 23% compared to similar sensors while reducing the chip area by 67%.
