Yesterday, Arm Holdings released its 2023 mobile processor solutions, including the Cortex-X4 super core, A720, and A520 next-generation CPUs, as well as the Immortalis G720, Mali G720, and Mali G620 fifth-generation GPUs.
MediaTek also officially announced a teaser stating that its next-generation flagship chip (likely named Dimensity 9300) will adopt Arm’s latest Cortex-X4 and Cortex-A720 CPU IP, along with the Arm Immortalis G720 GPU. It did not mention little cores, implying that the CPU architecture of Dimensity 9300 may be 4*X4 super cores + 4*A720 middle cores.
Additionally, a leak from the Digital Chat Station revealed that the X4 super core frequency is relatively moderate, and the Dimensity 9300’s performance may target the A17, with a paper power consumption surprisingly reduced by over 50% compared to the previous generation, with real-world testing expected as early as October. We can look forward to its actual performance.
