MP2019The revision results of the exam outline have finally been released. For details, click on the “View Original” link on the PMI official website.
The core idea of this latest outline is threefold.
First, the structure of the exam scores has changed from the previous five process groups (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring, and Closing) to three domains (People, Process, and Business Environment). The distribution of exam scores is as follows:
Domain |
Exam Weight |
People |
42%(84 points) |
Process |
50%(100 points) |
Business Environment |
8%(16 points) |
Total |
200 questions |
Second, it emphasizes the integration and reflection of the latest practices. To reflect the actual processes, project management practitioners will use various different practices to meet project goals and stakeholder needs. The PMP certification will integrate different practice methods. In the above-mentioned three examination domains, traditional predictive project management practices will account for half of the scores, while the other half will assess agile and hybrid practice methods.
Therefore, candidates need to better understand the essence of agile.
Third, it has redefined and clarified the tasks within these three domains.
Domain |
Tasks |
People |
14 items |
Process |
17 items |
Business Environment |
4 items |
Total |
35 items |
