BURTON is a pioneering brand that has always led the development of skiing equipment. Besides seeing snowboarders using BURTON boards on social media, how much do you know about BURTON snowboards?
Let’s take a look at the main technologies of BURTON snowboards!

The reason for high reliability lies in the wood core, which is lightweight, high quality, and manufactured with high precision.
The wood core is the heart of the snowboard. By combining wood and giving it precise structure, the snowboard can exhibit various performances. If you look at BURTON’s snowboards, you will clearly list the weight, such as “Superfly II 700g Core”.
Of course, the lower the number, the lighter it is!
The Dragonfly II 500G core used in the Mystery Day Trader is known as the lightest high-performance core, weighing only 500 grams.
Lightness is a great advantage for snowboarders, allowing for easy control of the board.

As the word core suggests, it is the most important part of the snowboard. Depending on the type, characteristics, and use of the wood, the response and weight can vary greatly.
Creating the Best Wood Core Through Precise Arrangement
If you check the specifications of BURTON snowboards, you will see terms like “Multi-Zone™ EGD™” and “Dual-Zone™ EGD™”.
This structure adjusts the angle and direction of the wood core particles to adjust the power transfer of the core, improving edge grip, responsiveness, and durability.
The wood grain is vertically arranged in four zones at the front and rear edges of the core, near the “sliding groove,” which is where the force of the snowboarder is dispersed, enhancing edge control and improving durability. Used for Super Fly II and Super Fly Core.
The wood grain is placed vertically from the tip to the tail of the board, with vertically grained wood blocks placed only along the edges of the front and rear edges. This provides consistent edge grip, excellent balance, and higher strength. Used in the Dragonfly II core.

The wood core part along the edge is arranged vertically, and the magnitude of the force applied to the edge is carefully adjusted.
Improves maneuverability by adjusting the thickness balance of the core.
BURTON’s snowboards have different thicknesses from tip to tail, consisting of a strong elastic thick part and a flexible thin part, making them easy to control while improving performance.
The use of SQUEEZEBOX is independent of the camber (board shape), such as camber, flyingV. If you look at the snowboard from the side, you will find that it starts to thicken from the tip and then thins out a bit. The inner part of the binding is thinner, softer, and more curved for better control, while the outer part of the binding is thicker, harder, providing stability and evenly distributing energy across the board.
This ultimately forms a more stable board that allows for greater maneuverability with less effort. In other words, its structure makes it “very easy to ride”.
This effect of SQUEEZEBOX allows you to easily control both feet, and on the outside, the force is stably transmitted to the snowboard, improving stability.
👉Twin Shape with OFF-AXIS SQUEEZEBOX
Directional symmetrical snowboard models “REWIND” and “TALENT SCOUT” use “OFF-AXIS SQUEEZEBOX”.
By alternating the arrangement of thick and thin parts to adjust the balance, it features a 15° angle, presenting a “duck stance”. Although it is a directional board, it distinguishes between the front and rear edges, allowing for powerful and efficient freestyle moves.

Unique CHANNEL Mounting System
THE CHANNEL is a mounting system on BURTON snowboards (except for some children’s models) that features two front and rear grooves parallel to the edges (one for each foot). The bindings can be set at any position within the mount. Unlimited adjustable stance width and angle for complete customization.

When the snowboarder bends down, traditional holes create dead spots. However, the groove itself is made of very soft aluminum and reinforced with fiberglass, making it thinner than hole structures. Additionally, by reducing dead zones, smoother compression and twisting of the snowboard can be achieved. This greatly enhances riding comfort.
Various curvature shapes from tip to tail highlight the characteristics of the board, such as ease of riding and ease of freestyle moves. Let’s introduce the board shapes currently used by BURTON.
👉CAMBER
Camber is a fundamental board shape in snowboard design because it achieves powerful edge control and generates strong and accurate pop.
Camber creates a flexible suspension effect, distributing weight evenly along the length of the board. Achieving smooth and stable edge control from tip to tail.
👉DIRECTIONAL CAMBER
The directional camber raises the nose, keeping the camber underfoot active and stable in various conditions (including quick turns).
Purepop camber is an evolution of traditional camber, with a slight flat area outside the binding positions, increasing the transition. An interesting combination of camber and flat. The nose and tail start quickly, allowing you to enjoy spinning and popping without catching an edge.
Flying V™ combines the performance of camber and rocker, merging the advantages of both. The overall rocker, including between the feet and the outside of the feet, enhances fun and float. The subtle camber area underfoot allows for precise edge control, accurate handling, and increased pop, achieving powerful riding turns.
👉FLAT TOP
Creates a flat area between the feet to enhance stability and balance. The outer areas of the feet begin to rise towards the nose and tail, creating an easy-to-control feeling.
👉DIRECTIONAL FLAT TOP
Used for big mountain powder boards. The overall structure is flat, with a rocker at the nose. It provides the stability and sufficient float needed for powder surfing.

Maximum Riding Performance Base
It is used in various models such as FAMILY TREE and CUSTOM.
The currently used sintered WFO base is a high-density sintered material, impregnated with a specially formulated wax. This improves the durability of the base surface and provides excellent performance in various conditions throughout the snow season. As the wax is pre-coated, you can ride immediately after purchase.
👉METHLON Base
METHLON base is the only base used for the MYSTERY SERIES in the range, made of Teflon material, offering excellent sliding performance and durability. Hard, scratch-resistant, and dirt-repellent. Therefore, it has strong performance that allows you to maximize speed in any conditions (including wet spring snow) without relying on waxing.
Rest assured, you can ski right away
BURTON snowboards are waxed, polished, and finished before leaving the factory.
The edges are adjusted to suit the best riding conditions, giving each board the appropriate angle to suit all riding styles and conditions. In addition, the base is also subjected to high-temperature waxing and polishing.
👉Infinite Ride
Perfect performance from the start
Infinite Ride is BURTON’s unique technology. For example, it is like a baseball glove, broken in from the start and in optimal condition. This technology can be achieved and maintained by intentionally processing materials under those conditions. The machine processes the snowboard by applying pressure to the board and adapting it to those conditions, ensuring maximum flex and rebound performance from day one to the entire snow season.
