Humanoid robots entering ordinary households

At the booth of Shenyang Siasun Robot & Automation Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Siasun), the humanoid robots in the embodied intelligence exhibition area became the focus of the event. The Siasun humanoid dual-arm platform, with its multimodal large model interaction capabilities, autonomously completed the entire process of fetching water from a water dispenser, astonishing attendees with its precise coordination of brain, eyes, and hands. Siasun’s Chief Technology Officer Zhang Lei explained that the platform is designed with forward development, and the robot body, underlying control system, joints, controllers, and other core components are all independently developed. “Our confidence comes from having core technologies that are independently controllable, and the patent layout provides legal protection for this confidence,” Zhang stated.

Next to the booth, the RICO wheeled humanoid robot was demonstrating its “skills” in assembling stools. It completed precise assembly through visual recognition and force-controlled dual-arm collaboration, with its autonomous positioning navigation system and dual-arm compliant control system all patented. The Siasun coffee robot also made its mark in the commercial service sector with patented technology, boasting a compact design of 2.1 square meters and a rapid production time of 90 seconds, resulting in operational costs only 20% of traditional stores, making it a “new favorite” in high foot traffic scenarios.

On the other side of the expo, Beijing Galaxy General Robot Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Galaxy General) showcased a wheeled dual-arm retail robot that drew attention. “What you see is our smart retail robot in a real supermarket scenario; even with densely arranged products and almost no gaps, it can still accurately identify and grasp items,” said Zhu Hui, the product manager of Galaxy General, demonstrating the operation of the wheeled dual-arm robot. This robot relies on Galaxy General’s self-developed Giant Voice Intelligent VLA large model technology, which has been applied in several smart retail stores in Beijing.

“From software large models to hardware structures, we have achieved full-stack independent development and have laid out numerous patents,” Zhu introduced. In addition to the retail sector, this robot has also been applied in industrial scenarios such as material box handling and parts sorting in automotive factories, with its patent support providing unique advantages in multi-scenario adaptability.

Variable Robot Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. showcased robots capable of performing tasks such as cleaning up garbage and organizing clothes in household environments, as well as handling logistics sorting and conveyor belt installation in industrial settings. “Our large model has strong generalization capabilities, requiring only simple training to complete tasks for specific scenarios,” said a company representative. The company has submitted multiple patent applications covering everything from model algorithms to mechanical structures, and the integrated patent layout of hardware and software allows the company to quickly respond to the needs of different industries. Currently, the company’s robots have achieved initial applications in household services and industrial fields, with patents becoming an important guarantee for market expansion.

“Enabling robots to listen, speak, understand, and think,” iFlytek’s “Robot Super Brain Platform” has become the “smart brain” for over 500 robot companies. Its released “Spark Super Brain Board” and “Intelligent Voice Backpack” provide an integrated solution of edge and cloud, significantly lowering the threshold for voice interaction with robots and achieving an extreme plug-and-play interaction mode.

Medical Robots Breaking Barriers

At the booth of Beijing Changmugu Medical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Changmugu), the next-generation orthopedic surgical robot ROPA was demonstrating hip joint replacement surgery planning through three-dimensional reconstruction technology. As the first major technical equipment recognized by the Beijing Municipal Government and jointly certified by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Health Commission, the ROPA robot carries the mission of achieving self-reliance and strength in China’s orthopedic medical technology.

Orthopedic Surgical Robot

Dr. Zhang Yiling, Chairman of Changmugu, explained that hip joint replacement surgery is highly challenging and risky in the orthopedic field. It requires surgeons to not only place the implanted prosthesis accurately but also ensure that the surrounding soft tissues recover appropriate tension, which places high demands on the surgeon’s clinical experience. Changmugu has transformed the surgical experience of top experts into digital intelligence through innovative artificial intelligence technology, enabling young doctors to replicate expert-level surgical outcomes accurately, significantly shortening the learning curve and lowering the surgical threshold.

The surgical robot achieves collaboration among a “digital brain, digital eyes, and digital hands,” integrating years of surgical experience from numerous orthopedic experts to help young doctors quickly enhance their skills. Zhang Yiling noted that this innovative achievement relies on the company’s patented technologies in human-machine interaction algorithms and surgical precision control, ensuring the uniqueness and safety of the technology. Currently, Changmugu holds 245 patents.

High-End Manufacturing: A Balance of Rigid and Flexible

In the industrial robot exhibition area, the Siasun SR270A robot was recreating the “human-machine dance” from the CCTV Dragon Boat Festival Gala. Behind its millisecond-level synchronized artistic performance lies the hard technology of rigid-flexible coupling control—”walking accurately and stopping steadily under high loads,” with trajectory transitions as smooth as silk.

“Spot welding, glue application, and other automotive manufacturing processes require extreme precision,” an engineer from Siasun pointed to an SR12A-12/1.46 robot undergoing a “fire line impact” challenge, explaining, “Its repeat positioning accuracy has significantly improved compared to previous generations, thanks to mechanical structure optimization and patented power systems.”

In the high-end intelligent manufacturing exhibition area, a collaborative robot magnetic suction intelligent welding workstation is equipped with a no-teaching welding system, suitable for welding applications with diverse, small-batch, discrete, and complex structural characteristics. “We have significantly improved efficiency through trajectory planning algorithm patents,” said a member of the technology development team. “Through patent layouts, we have expanded the operational scope of industrial robots from simple handling to precision manufacturing.”

In the special robot exhibition area, the Xingwei D700C AI cleaning robot was simulating operations in a textile workshop. This cleaning device, designed for industrial scenarios, pioneered independent airflow and self-cleaning filter technology, with the patented “AGV Co-line Scheduling System” greatly enhancing cleaning efficiency.

The prosperity of the industry relies on a healthy ecosystem. In terms of complete machine innovation, China has seen the emergence of a number of internationally competitive star products. Companies like Xingdong Jiyuan, Tianxun Intelligent, and Galaxy General have products with world-class capabilities in complex environment navigation and precise operations; while products from companies like Songyan Power and Accelerated Evolution have certain advantages in impact resistance and high dynamics. Behind these products is a substantial accumulation of patents related to structural design, motion control, and material applications.

Currently, China’s robotics industry is demonstrating a strong ecological synergy effect, forming a prosperous picture of deep integration of production, education, research, and application, with both domestic and international efforts. Industry experts state that patents are the “barometer” of innovation in the robotics industry and the “passport” for companies to participate in global competition. From the deep thinking of the “brain” to the precise insights of the “eyes,” and to the steady execution of “action”; from the patent layout of core technologies to the leading formulation of industry standards; from the flourishing domestic application scenarios to the deep integration into the global innovation network—China’s robotics industry is building a solid foundation for the future through a comprehensive and systematic innovation approach.
