Understand PLC Control Principles in 5 Minutes
▶
If AI is the shining star on stage, then PLC is the ace prop master backstage who never drops the ball. Stars can take a day off, but PLC? It works 24/7 all year round, emotionally stable, never asks for a raise, and as long as it gets power, it can manage the production line with clarity.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to take notes; in just 5 minutes, you’ll learn it all. If you don’t get it… just watch it again!
01

What is PLC?
PLC, or Programmable Logic Controller, is simply an industrial version of a “smart switch”.
Imagine your home light switch: press once to turn on the light, press again to turn it off—that’s manual control. But if you had to press that switch 1000 times a day, your fingers would probably spark…
This is where PLC comes into play! It acts like a tireless robot, helping you automatically control machine operations, and it can flexibly adjust based on your commands (programs), making it the executive officer of the industrial world!
02

How Does PLC Work?
The workflow of a PLC actually consists of three steps: Input → Processing → Output, like an “automated switch butler” that works in three steps:
Input: Using sensors (like temperature probes, buttons) to detect external signals, like eyes and ears.
Processing (CPU): The “brain” of the PLC makes decisions based on preset programs (like “if temperature > 30°C, turn on the fan”), similar to how a brain works.
Output: Finally, the PLC commands the actuators, such as starting motors or lighting alarm lights, like hands and feet.
For example 🌰: The mall’s air conditioning automatically raises the temperature by 2°C at midnight to save energy, then pre-cools before the morning rush—it’s all PLC working silently.
1. Input
✓ Room temperature > 26°C → Immediately start cooling✓ Room temperature ≤ 26°C → Turn off the compressor

“Oh, the room temperature > 26°C, it’s so hot!”;
or
“Room temperature ≤ 26°C, it’s so cold!”
Processing
2.
PLC program judgment:
“Immediately start—cooling mode”;
or
Turn off the compressor (but the fan may continue to run).
3. Output

The motor starts, and the temperature gradually decreases (“Temperature is cooling”)
or
The motor stops, and the temperature gradually rises.
PLC automatically compares the set temperature:
It’s like the air conditioner can see the thermometer and make decisions.
PLC is not only the “smart brain” of everyday appliances (like air conditioners and elevators) but also the core controller in the field of industrial automation, precisely directing production lines, machinery, and complex processes.

PLC—The Brain of the Industrial Field:
Taking our products as an example:

(Unattended Truck Scale Weighing Management System—PLC Integrated Control)
Based on the existing truck scale, it controls the surrounding connected devices through the PLC integrated control cabinet to complete the automated weighing process of vehicles.
This greatly improves the efficiency of logistics flow in and out, making it an ideal weighing system for bulk cargo truck transportation in coal, metallurgy, ports, and mines.

(Bulk Loading System—PLC Control)
It uses a combination of PLC and intelligent measurement control instruments for loading control, achieving precise control of the automatic loading process of bulk materials.
Let me give you an analogy, and you’ll understand:
The PLC-controlled bulk loading system is like using a smart faucet to fill a bucket with water—fast and accurate!
01
Preparation Stage (Set Parameters)
Just like setting a water dispenser to “fill 5 liters”
The worker tells the PLC in advance: This truck needs to load 50 tons, start fast and then slow down.
02
Fast Mode (Quick Loading)
The gate opens fully, and the material rushes down like a waterfall.
Weight sensor: “Now loading 45 tons!”
03
Gentle Mode (Slow Loading)
The PLC receives the signal and reduces the gate by half.
It becomes a steady flow, just like turning down the faucet when it’s almost full.
04
Emergency Brake (Precise Stop)
When the weight shows 49.8 tons, the PLC suddenly closes the gate.
Using inertia, it “flings” the last 0.2 tons into the truck, exactly 50 tons.
05
Safety Guard (Protective Measures)
If the truck suddenly drives away/system failure
The PLC instantly locks the gate and simultaneously sounds an alarm.

Actual Effects:
Time can be reduced from several hours or even over ten hours to 1-2 hours.
The error is minimal, achieving dynamic precise weighing.
Automatically prints loading lists, eliminating manual bookkeeping.
This system is particularly common in cement plants and grain depots, like “automatically filling trucks with cola”—fast, accurate, and no spills!

Why Do Factories Love It?
In the field of industrial automation, PLCs have become the “control hub” for various production scenarios due to their reliability, strong anti-interference capabilities, and flexible programming features.
From simple standalone devices to complex production lines, their applications cover almost every aspect of manufacturing (automated assembly line control, precise CNC machine control, metallurgy and heavy industry process control, warehouse logistics automation), etc.;
From logical control of single devices to coordinated scheduling of complex systems, PLCs continuously collect input signals (from various sensors, limit switches), execute preset programs, and drive output devices (motors, valves, etc.), becoming the “nervous system” of industrial production automation.
Its flexibility (modifiable control logic through programming) and stability (adaptation to harsh industrial environments) ensure its core position in manufacturing upgrades.

Conclusion: How Great is PLC?
PLC is like the “super butler” in the field of industrial automation, making machines obedient, production efficient, and helping engineers lose fewer hairs (though the ones that should fall will still fall)…
If you’re still manually controlling devices, hurry up and try PLC! Consult us to easily upgrade your production line and double your efficiency!
Finally, here’s a piece of wisdom for industrial control:
“Life is like a PLC program; sometimes it’s ‘AND’ logic (only act when all conditions are met), and sometimes it’s ‘OR’ logic (one condition is enough—but no matter what, don’t let yourself get into a ‘dead loop’!)”
Alright, 5 minutes are up! Did you learn (fei) it?
