“Robot! Programming! Artificial Intelligence?” These are popular terms that most parents and students often hear these days. The first two have garnered some understanding among the public through various eye-catching articles. However, for artificial intelligence, most people still have only a vague understanding and lack a concrete concept. Let’s open the door to artificial intelligence together.
Artificial Intelligence, abbreviated as AI, is a new technology science that studies and develops theories, methods, technologies, and application systems to simulate, extend, and enhance human intelligence. In simple terms, the main goal of artificial intelligence research is to enable machines to perform complex tasks that typically require human intelligence. For example, autonomous learning, language recognition, image recognition, natural language processing, and so on. However, for middle and primary school students, to truly step into the world of artificial intelligence, they need to accumulate a lot of knowledge in advance, such as building complex structures, programming software, and solving practical problems.
Today, the Nanjing Women and Children Hand-in-Hand Innovation Team is bringing a brand new comprehensive robot course to everyone. The aim is to get students closer to artificial intelligence and achieve the goal of autonomous learning with the small robot in their hands through phased learning. Let’s take a look!

[Hardware Part] Using Micro:bit microcomputer

Micro:bit is a microcomputer for youth programming education launched by the British BBC (yes, you read that right, that BBC, the one known for its documentaries). It integrates an accelerometer, a magnetometer, two programmable buttons, 25 monochrome LEDs, Bluetooth, and other common sensor devices on a small board. It is powered by a micro USB port and can be connected to an external battery pack. There are multiple ring connectors at the bottom for controlling external devices.

【Software Part】 Online graphical and code programming

Micro:bit can be programmed through a graphical programming interface or by using Python or JavaScript, or any programming language you prefer. This means that as long as you can operate a computer simply and are willing to learn and practice, you can code this “sophisticated” program and make the small robot realize your ideas.
With such powerful hardware and software, combined with our carefully selected Maqueen robot chassis, children can learn complete robot knowledge and build a solid foundation. Study hard and make progress every day! You can participate in robot competitions and continuously innovate to create your own smart hardware, step by step entering the world of artificial intelligence. We look forward to your joining!
