According to the Aiqicha App, recently, Zhuhai Zero Boundary Integrated Circuit Co., Ltd. underwent a business change,with Dong Mingzhu resigning as the legal representative and chairman, succeeded by Li Shaobin as the new legal representative,and the manager and director roles changed to executive directors and managers, with Tan Jianming exiting the board.
Zhuhai Zero Boundary Integrated Circuit Co., Ltd. was established in August 2018, with a registered capital of 1 billion RMB, and its business scope includes integrated circuit chip design and services, sales of integrated circuit chips and products, and sales of electronic products, fully owned by Zhuhai Gree Electric Appliances Inc.
According to the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily, in the context of the intelligent transformation of the manufacturing industry, companies such as Xiaomi, Midea, and TCL are establishing chip platforms and software systems for end products through self-developed chips or investment.
Gree Electric’s 2024 financial report disclosed that its semiconductor business revenue reached 15 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 50%; net profit was 3.5 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 75%, accounting for 10.9% of Gree Electric’s total net profit, becoming the second largest source of profit after air conditioning.
As the chip business system gradually takes shape, Zhuhai Zero Boundary has also recently completed key management changes.
Gree Electric’s 2024 annual report shows that Li Shaobin, who succeeded as the legal representative and chairman of Zero Boundary, holds a master’s degree and is a senior engineer. He has served as assistant minister and minister of the commercial air conditioning design and development department, assistant to the president; since February 2017, he has been the assistant chief engineer; and since April 2025, he has been the vice president.
So far, Gree has not disclosed the specific reasons for this management change, nor has there been any substantial adjustment in business direction, product line, or equity structure.
According to Yangcheng Evening News, since 2024, Dong Mingzhu has repeatedly discussed Gree’s chip layout in public. In March 2024, Dong Mingzhu revealed that Gree is building a SiC chip factory, expected to start production in June of the same year, and plans to become the second largest and the largest fully automated compound chip factory in Asia.
In December 2024, Dong Mingzhu stated in an interview that Gree’s chip has succeeded, completing the entire industrial chain from independent research and development, independent design, to independent manufacturing. “What makes me happiest is that I did not take a penny from the state when building this chip factory.”
At a recent performance briefing of Gree Electric, the company’s board secretary Zhang Zhouhu introduced that Gree hasentered the chip field since 2015, with an initial planned production capacity of240,000 pieces/year. Currently, the company’s chip products mainly include power semiconductor products and integrated circuit chips, which have been widely applied in household air conditioning products, with an overall self-developed application ratio of about30%, and self-developed chips have also been applied in commercial air conditioning, smart equipment, industrial robots, and other self-operated businesses.
