How can we make gifts for children using just some discarded drink bottle caps? Don’t underestimate these common bottle caps from drinks; they can be used to create agile mechanical police toy robots that can pose in various positions, which kids will absolutely love. Let’s explore the impressive bottle cap robot together with the creative DIY tutorial from the Play Creation Workshop.
The materials and tools we need include: 22 used drink bottle caps, a hole punch, a larger needle, thick thread, a plastic cap from toothpaste, and a plastic pen tube to serve as a weapon.
Prepare various colors of bottle caps, and we can start making the robot. Below are the methods for making and assembling the robot’s various parts.
1. Drill holes in the bottle caps. If you have a pointed soldering iron, it will be faster. Tie an elastic band with the needle and thread through the bottle caps shown in the diagram. The caps made here are for the legs, and the bottom cap needs to be tied.
2. Continue making the other body parts of the robot, which are also made using a similar threading method. When assembling, tighten the body of the arms and cut off any excess glue and unnecessary thread ends.
3. The eyes of the mechanical police can be made from a piece of tape or drawn directly on. The weapon is made from a pen tube and can be installed on the arms, shoulders, or back. If you have suitable materials, you can also add other decorations to the DIY robot.
4. The body of the robot made from bottle caps can move freely, allowing the arms and legs to be swung to pose the robot in different positions. Additionally, robots of different colors can fight or line up against each other.
Who will take these adorable bottle cap robots home?
