Student Jin Shiyu upgraded the Car-mounted Auxiliary Office System 1.0. The 2.0 version follows ergonomic principles and adopts a dual-layer mechanical hinge structure, ensuring greater structural stability. Four retractable grippers can adapt to various notebook models and can be installed in different positions. It requires no electricity, does not alter the vehicle’s structure, and maintains the layout of the interior space, achieving a comfortable mobile office experience at a lower procurement and operating cost.
Automatic Auxiliary Wheel Technology:A New Bicycle Safety Assurance System Design

With the acceleration of urbanization in China and the improvement of people’s living standards, bicycles are becoming increasingly favored as an environmentally friendly and healthy mode of transportation. However, bicycle accidents account for a significant proportion of traffic incidents, especially for beginners, where safety is particularly crucial. To address this issue, the group designed a bicycle posture assistance device that can automatically deploy auxiliary wheels when necessary, providing additional stability and safety for beginners. Experimental tests show that this device can effectively reduce the accident risk for beginners, improve their learning efficiency and riding confidence. This research provides a new solution to enhance the learning experience and safety of novice riders.
An Abnormal Situation Monitoring System for Manhole Covers

The group designed an innovative smart manhole cover device aimed at improving urban road and public safety. This device is an embedded installation that does not require any modifications to the manhole cover; by simply lifting the manhole cover and installing a waterproof box, it can provide timely warnings and safety protection in case of road flooding and manhole cover damage. The device employs various innovative technologies to monitor the status of the manhole cover, detect combustible gases inside, etc. Its widespread application can enhance the sustainability of urban infrastructure.

Electronic Cigarette Health Monitoring Device

With the popularity of electronic cigarettes, people are increasingly concerned about their health effects. This group proposed a health monitoring device for electronic cigarettes that monitors the concentration of carbon monoxide in the mouthpiece and smoking duration, achieving monitoring and warning for the total amount smoked by users. This device features gas sensor detection, real-time display, alarm function, and synchronizes data to an IoT server for easy user access and analysis. The design of this device aims to help electronic cigarette users better understand and control their smoking behavior, thereby reducing potential health hazards.
Communication Without Worries——A Sign Language Translation System Based on Speech Synthesis Technology

Deaf and mute individuals face communication challenges in their daily lives. Traditional communication methods primarily rely on text or sign language, which are often inefficient and present communication barriers. Therefore, this group proposed a design for a sign language translation system based on speech synthesis technology, implemented using Arduino nano, expansion boards, speech recognition modules, RGB light strips, and buttons. This communication device can improve the communication efficiency of the deaf and mute in their daily lives, achieving simple dialogue functions through automatic reply and automatic play modes. In automatic reply mode, the device can recognize voice input and automatically play pre-set audio while illuminating RGB lights to indicate the dialogue content; in automatic play mode, after pressing a button, the device will play pre-set audio.
Virus Filtering Hood

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the strong transmission characteristics of the virus severely impacted people’s lives and work. Ordinary masks are often uncomfortable to wear, obscure the face, and hinder communication, while their effectiveness in preventing virus transmission is generally inadequate, leading to potential virus spread. To ensure that people can cope calmly in the event of future similar viral outbreaks and avoid home isolation, student Yan Sicheng creatively designed a virus filtering hood that is effective, comfortable to wear, and suitable for social activities. This hood allows people to maintain a relatively normal work and life routine during virus transmission periods, significantly reducing the likelihood of virus transmission and facilitating the gradual resolution of the pandemic.
Design of a Natural Light Reading Lamp
Class 5 (5) Hao Xinyan
Student Hao Xinyan’s creative inspiration comes from the consideration of protecting classmates’ eyesight. With the increasing academic pressure, especially during the pandemic when online classes became prevalent, many students experienced varying degrees of vision decline; improper lighting during reading or studying is a significant contributing factor. Research shows that ensuring sufficient exposure to natural light is the most effective way to maintain or restore eyesight. By employing side-emitting tri-color LED light groups, combined with a camera to capture ambient light brightness and color temperature, and utilizing mature MCU and other electronic control systems, the device creates an environment close to natural daylight for users while reading or studying, minimizing the impact on eyesight and providing a warm learning space. Additionally, this design considers nighttime reading scenarios where others may be resting; in such cases, the light group can be detached and attached to the book, illuminating only the pages to minimize disturbance to those nearby.
Smart Hamster Care Assistant
Class 5 (3) Luo Shiteng
During the winter break, Luo Shiteng left his hamster at home without effective heating measures, resulting in the unfortunate death of the hamster due to freezing. To address this, he aimed to design a smart hamster cage to meet the hamster’s living needs, integrating modern technological elements to achieve automated management and monitoring, optimizing the living environment, and reducing the owner’s caregiving burden. This includes temperature control and environmental monitoring systems, smart feeding and drinking systems, health monitoring functions, entertainment and exercise space design, sanitation mechanisms, IoT connectivity, and remote monitoring, combining bioengineering, IoT technology, and artificial intelligence to provide an efficient and convenient pet care experience.
A Reusable Mask That Kills Viruses and Humidifies Using Microstatic Principles
Class 5 (1) Xi Jinghao
Student Xi Jinghao was inspired by the air purifier at home to invent a mask that can kill viruses. In the process of research, he thought of using static electricity to eliminate viruses and introduced ultrasonic humidification technology for better comfort. This mask enhances virus protection, increases wearing comfort, and is reusable, promising to provide an innovative solution for preventing respiratory diseases. Throughout this process, he learned a lot of scientific and engineering knowledge and developed problem-solving and innovative thinking skills.
Radar Laser Mosquito Killing Machine
Class 5 (6) Yan Siyu
Mosquitoes and various flying insects are often ubiquitous, causing significant disturbances in people’s lives, especially during the summer when mosquitoes buzz around, affecting people’s rest and even spreading viruses and bacteria, posing great risks. Ordinary mosquito control methods such as incense and electric mosquito swatters are not very effective and can cause discomfort. Student Yan Siyu drew inspiration from laser tree branch cutting techniques to devise a creative design for laser mosquito extermination, utilizing radar and laser integration to quickly locate and eliminate mosquitoes without disturbing normal rest, employing modern high-tech for effective mosquito control.
Solutions to the Queue Problem at Women’s Restrooms in Tourist Attractions
Class 5 (3) Zhang Xiao
Every time Zhang Xiao goes out for a trip or study tour, he often sees long queues next to the men’s restroom and often has to wait longer for his mother to finish in the women’s restroom. This repeated waiting made him wonder: why are there always queues at women’s restrooms? And how can we avoid such unnecessary waiting? In this fast-paced era, travel has become an indispensable part of life, playing an important role in releasing heavy stress and seeking spiritual solace. Therefore, the quality of travel experiences directly impacts our quality of life. Zhang Xiao thus thought of setting up restroom usage sensors for both genders to adjust the number of stalls accordingly, avoiding subsequent queue phenomena.
Multi-functional Storage Box
Class 4 (5) Zhou Zixin
Student Zhou Zixin noticed that her father always prepared necessities with worry about forgetting something every time he traveled for work. To address this, she designed a multi-functional storage box, a daily product with various storage functions aimed at helping users manage and organize various daily items such as clothing, stationery, cosmetics, and small tools more effectively, and it can also identify the quantity of items within the box, providing great convenience for travel.

I am very happy that my invention “Car-mounted Notebook Auxiliary Office System 2.0” won the second prize again in the 39th Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition. I will continue to work hard, and I believe that every award is a new starting point. I am very happy to have won the first prize in the creative competition. Reflecting on the three years of the COVID-19 pandemic, the virus’s strong transmissibility forced us to learn at home or wear masks all day in the classroom, significantly impacting our studies, leaving everyone tense. I have been thinking about how to block virus transmission without affecting normal learning and life. I was inspired by the design of the astronaut helmet to simplify and modify it, using a hood and fan to address the issues of mask leakage and contamination, effectively reducing virus transmission. In the future, when new viruses emerge, we won’t have to be so anxious anymore.

I have been participating in the youth innovation club for over two years, and my interest remains high.
