Computer Alliance Society Conducts
Lecture on “External Storage of Microcomputers”








In order to further enhance students’ understanding and application abilities regarding computer knowledge, on March 13, the Computer Alliance Society held a lecture on “External Storage of Microcomputers” in Mingde Building A101. The purpose of this lecture was to deeply analyze the principles, types, applications, and importance of external storage devices for microcomputers in modern information technology, providing students with a learning platform that combines theory and practice.

During the event, Teacher Peng, with rich professional knowledge and practical experience, conducted an in-depth and accessible explanation on the theme of “External Storage of Microcomputers.” Teacher Peng first introduced the basic concepts of external storage, emphasizing its critical role in data preservation, transmission, and backup. Subsequently, he elaborated on several common external storage devices in the market, such as Hard Disk Drives (HDD), Solid State Drives (SSD), USB flash drives, external hard drives, and optical discs, discussing their working principles, performance characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, and applicable scenarios.

This lecture not only deepened students’ understanding and recognition of external storage devices for microcomputers but also stimulated their interest and enthusiasm for exploring more computer knowledge. Many students expressed that through this learning experience, they now have a clearer direction for choosing and using external storage devices, and they highly praised the activities organized by the Computer Alliance Society, looking forward to more similar learning opportunities in the future.
