On May 28, the Guangdong Province Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Industry Innovation Products and Services Release Conference (Zhuhai Session) and the Zhuhai Cloud Smart City Industry Development Conference were held in Zhuhai. The venue featured an exhibition area for innovative products and services in artificial intelligence and robotics, showcasing 108 innovative products and services including Zhuhai’s AI chips, large models, robots and components, and smart terminals.

“Everyone sees wearables as the next emerging market.” According to Chen Zhixiang, Deputy General Manager of the Smart Video Division at Allwinner Technology Co., Ltd., the entire wearable market is looking forward to the growth potential brought by AI wearable glasses. AI wearable glasses need to possess core capabilities in auditory, comprehension, and visual aspects, requiring good performance and image quality, low power consumption, miniaturization, and overall cost control.

At the event, Chen Zhixiang announced the complete solution for the Huiyan-V821 AI glasses, providing a series of services including hardware and software design, communication, image algorithms, and WIFI certification, which reduces the difficulty of collaboration in the industry chain. In terms of hardware, a miniaturized reference design was developed, which can be quickly paired with Bluetooth designs. On the software side, there are nine basic functional scenarios and one-click firmware generation.

What is the potential for AI glasses in the wearable field? “AI glasses are essentially an extension of smartphones.” Chen Zhixiang stated that AI glasses products are still in the stage of functional integration and require long-term investment. The AI glasses market needs to cultivate consumer habits in relevant scenarios and can also expand into niche vertical scenarios such as sunglasses, sports glasses, and pet wearables. In the long run, it is expected to bring new AI business models to the entire wearable market.
