Building a New Secure Ecosystem | Yunchi Future's inHSM Information Security Firmware Fully Compatible with Xinch Chip Technology's E3 Chip

Xinch Chip Technology and Yunchi Future are both outstanding representatives of the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone. Since 2022, the two parties have initiated a strategic cooperation. Yunchi Future’s self-developed 5G/V2X automotive-grade multi-domain interconnected central network controller, equipped with Xinch Chip Technology’s G9 series central gateway chip and E3 series automotive-grade MCU, has been successfully applied in Beijing Yizhuang.

On December 13, Xinch Chip Technology and Yunchi Future jointly announced that Yunchi Future’s inHSM information security firmware has been deployed on Xinch Chip Technology’s automotive-grade MCU products E3119F8/E3118F4 and officially released to the public. This collaboration can comprehensively cover the information security development needs of core application scenarios for domain controllers, seamlessly integrating with AUTOSAR, reducing development difficulty and costs, and providing customers with more efficient and reliable innovative solutions.

The E3119F8/E3118F4 equipped with inHSM not only fully supports national commercial cryptographic algorithms SM2/SM3/SM4 but also achieves a significant improvement in algorithm performance. This solution will assist OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in meeting the international WP.29 R155 and R156 regulatory requirements, as well as the newly released domestic mandatory standards GB 44495-2024 “Technical Requirements for Information Security of Complete Vehicles” and GB 44496-2024 “General Technical Requirements for Automotive Software Upgrades,” ensuring information security for intelligent vehicles.

inHSM Deployed on E3 Chip: Dual Assurance of Excellent Performance and Ultimate Security

Xinch Chip Technology’s E3 series high-performance automotive-grade MCU has gained widespread market recognition since its launch in 2022 due to its outstanding performance and security features. It is the first MCU product to obtain the German Rhine ASIL D/SIL 3 functional safety product certification and also the first domestic MCU product to receive the national cryptography level 2 certification, achieving industry-leading levels in performance parameters, reliability, functional safety, and information security, with shipments exceeding one million units.

Among them, the latest E3119F8/E3118F4 released in 2024 is mainly applied in body domain control, regional control, LiDAR, front-view integrated machines, automotive battery management, and other fields. This product uses an ARM Cortex R5F CPU, with up to two independent 400MHz high-performance application cores, and the information security core can reach a maximum frequency of 200MHz.

High-Performance Cryptographic Algorithms

inHSM implements high-performance cryptographic algorithms on Xinch E3119F8/E3118F4. For example, the AES-256-CMAC verification of a 1M image takes only 7ms, outperforming most domestic and foreign manufacturers by 2-5 times. At the same time, it supports hardware-accelerated ECDSA/SM2/RSA signature verification algorithms, with RSA2048+SHA256 verification performance exceeding 2000 times/s, and a single verification takes only 450us.

The high-performance cryptographic algorithms of inHSM allow vehicle controllers to power on and start up quickly, completing the forwarding of the first frame CAN message in a short time, meeting the stringent time requirements for secure system startup, and providing a solid guarantee for automotive information security.

Comprehensive Support for National Cryptographic Algorithms

inHSM not only supports mainstream international cryptographic algorithms such as AES, RSA, and ECC but also fully supports national cryptographic algorithms SM2, SM3, and SM4, complying with relevant national standards (GM/T 0002-2012, GM/T 0003-2012, GM/T 0004-2012), meeting domestic customers’ needs for information security compliance, while also providing a safer and more reliable communication and storage environment for intelligent connected vehicles.

inHSM provides comprehensive cryptographic algorithms to meet the development needs of SecOC and high-security communication protocol TLS, as well as the access development needs of secure diagnostic UDS27/29 services, supporting various signature verification algorithms based on RSA, ECC, and SM2 for secure flashing solutions.

Seamless Integration with AUTOSAR

inHSM provides AUTOSAR Crypto Driver standard interfaces, achieving seamless integration with AUTOSAR, reducing users’ development difficulty and costs in information security, while also improving system stability and reliability.

Multi-Core Multi-Application Support

inHSM supports multiple parallel sessions, capable of meeting multi-core concurrent requests. It can manage the data flow of each session in real-time and independently, providing more flexible and efficient information security protection for intelligent connected vehicles.

Custom Storage Solutions

inHSM supports over 200 key storage options and allows users to configure/customize key slots. This provides customers with a more flexible and secure key management solution, meeting information security needs in different application scenarios.
