Best Equipment Priority for Each Class in WoW Classic TAQ
Dear players of World of Warcraft Classic, after two weeks of progression, have you obtained your desired gear? The current pace of TAQ is not great, as the dungeon takes too long. Therefore, it is best for each class to first secure their top priority BIS before considering other equipment. In short: when you encounter an epic item, go all in; if you don’t get it, hold back!
Whether in a G group or a DKP group, the top priority equipment for the nine major classes is highly competitive. If you carelessly spend your valuable points or gold on items like the T2.5 set or the Anubisath weapons, you will find that for a long time afterward, you will completely lose the chance to compete for epic gear. A typical example is the graduation weapon for mages and warlocks, the Sharpened Insect Leg. This weapon can be said to be the biggest upgrade for spell DPS in TAQ, as others like the Ruined Staff and Monk Staff do not compare. It is recommended that mages and warlocks avoid competing for capes and Anubisath series items until they obtain the insect leg, especially the latter which will soon be everywhere.
For rogues, the only item worth going all in for in the entire dungeon is the Death’s Sting. For ambitious dagger rogues, regardless of the team, if Death’s Sting drops, they must go all in; if it doesn’t drop, hold back and don’t think about items like the Anubisath Ripper or Sands of Time. Once the weapon is in hand, other equipment will follow naturally. Similarly, for Fury Warriors, it is recommended to prioritize obtaining the one-handed sword Anubisath Ripper. Although there are many items needed for Fury Warriors in TAQ, the strength plate items are not being contested, so getting the weapon first gives you a head start.
For hunters, there isn’t much to say; if anything, it’s the Giant Bug Larva or various physical trinkets, or high-stat Godslayer Rings. Hunters have minimal upgrades in TAQ. As for healers, the only designated BIS in TAQ must be the Void Prophecy Staff dropped by C’Thun; it is an absolute top-tier weapon that outclasses all other equipment. Lastly, tanks don’t need much discussion either; DKP group tanks will directly obtain their gear, and G groups won’t accept unqualified MTs. From a conventional perspective, the types of equipment that the nine major classes need to prioritize are just a few. Now, let’s talk about some unconventional first priority equipment for certain classes.
For Cat Druids, they can obtain a dedicated weapon with shapeshift attack power in TAQ, such as the Holy Anubisath Warhammer exchanged for the Anubisath insignia, which can increase attack power by 280 points with just one hand. Other than the orange staff, there are only two exclusive weapons for feral druids at level 60: one is the Nightmare’s End from NAXX, and the other is the Holy Anubisath Warhammer. Therefore, the off-hand can also be paired with the all-stat off-hand from the Stratholme Archivist. Additionally, you might consider prioritizing obtaining the Godslayer Ring or Sands of Time for burst trinkets.
For Shadow Priests and Elemental Shamans, who are less common specs, since they cannot equip one-handed swords, their first priority equipment becomes items like the Devourer’s Cloak or Eye Socket Belt, which provides more freedom of choice. The only concern is whether their DPS is up to standard. As for Retribution Paladins and Quail (a reference to a lesser-used class), it’s hard to imagine a raid leader in TAQ allowing them to join, so we’ll skip that. In summary, when encountering these first priority items in a DKP group, it’s perfectly fine to go all in. However, if in a G group and you’re not a wealthy player, make sure to hold back if you don’t encounter any epic items!
