Apple Develops AI Robot Assistant: iPad with Robotic Arm, Siri Upgrade for Natural Conversations

According to Bloomberg, Apple is developing several robotic projects, the most notable of which is an iPad-like device equipped with a robotic arm. This robot can naturally respond to human interactions, automatically tracking and keeping the user centered during FaceTime calls. Apple is also developing an upgraded version of Siri that can engage in more natural conversations and proactively participate in discussions, such as recommending nearby restaurants when users talk about dinner plans. The project is led by Kevin Lynch, head of Apple’s smartwatch software and automotive projects, involving multiple teams across hardware, software, AI, and interface design. In addition to consumer products, Apple is also developing a large robotic arm, T1333, for manufacturing and discussing the possibilities of wheeled robots similar to Amazon’s Astro and even humanoid robots.
