Recently, the OpenHarmony Developer Conference 2025 (OHDC.2025, hereinafter referred to as “the Conference”) was held in Shenzhen. The Conference officially released the open-source HarmonyOS 5.1 Release version, held ceremonies for the “OpenHarmony Application Technology Component Co-construction Launch” and “OpenHarmony AI Agent Technology Co-construction Launch,” and established eight major thematic sub-forums, inviting experts in open-source operating systems, cutting-edge practitioners, developers, and representatives from ecological partners to discuss the future development of open-source HarmonyOS technology and share the latest development experiences.

Allwinner was invited to participate in this conference and gave a presentation titled “Allwinner Technology’s Industry Intelligent Chip OpenHarmony Solution Adaptation and Certification Experience Sharing.” In the presentation, Allwinner introduced the application scenarios and product roadmap of “Industrial Intelligent SoC.” Currently, Allwinner has over ten mainstream chips active in the industrial intelligent SoC field, covering entry-level, mid-range, high-end, and flagship scenarios in the industrial intelligent industry, relying on reliable processes and advanced IP to provide a platform-level SoC solution with full computing power coverage, empowering various sub-scenarios in the industrial intelligent industry.
During the presentation, Allwinner also focused on the process and experience of adapting Allwinner chip solutions to OpenHarmony. Since 2021, Allwinner has been collaborating with the OpenAtom Foundation, with multiple chips adapted to the OpenHarmony system and obtaining compatibility certification. The certification obtained this time is for the Feilin Embedded FET527-C module/development board designed and developed based on the Allwinner T527 chip. This solution is adapted to the standard version of OpenHarmony 4.1/OpenHarmony 5.0 systems.
“T527” is an “octa-core industrial-grade high-performance artificial intelligence chip” launched by Allwinner, integrating 8-core Arm® Cortex®-A55 CPU, NPU, Mali™-GPU, DSP, MCU, and other high-performance computing units, with powerful hardware encoding and decoding capabilities and rich screen and camera interfaces, supporting common interfaces such as CAN, PCIe, SDIO, USB, GMAC, SPI, TWI, UART, GPADC, LRADC, PWM, etc. The chip meets industrial-grade quality standards and can be applied in fields such as smart industry, smart power, and automotive electronics.

The adaptation work of the OpenHarmony system was completed through the joint efforts of Allwinner, Softcom Power, and Feilin Embedded. Allwinner was mainly responsible for the adaptation and support of internal technical modules of the chip, including key modules such as GPU, Audio, Video, etc.; Softcom Power was responsible for OpenHarmony-related technical support and resolving issues related to CTS testing, including ssts, acts-validator, OpenHarmony kernel module configuration, etc.; Feilin Embedded was responsible for the development of peripheral modules such as WiFi/BT/TP/RTC, CTS testing resources and preparation, and integration of the overall T527 solution.
Finally, Allwinner introduced the process of OpenHarmony certification. The OpenHarmony compatibility testing requires partners to obtain code and compatibility testing kits and complete self-testing. After obtaining the compatibility testing report, the report is uploaded during the testing process for review or sampling by the OpenAtom Open Source Foundation team. The scope of the compatibility testing suite includes application compatibility testing, API compatibility testing, hardware abstraction layer compatibility testing, distributed compatibility testing, and system security vulnerability testing, among others. Allwinner shared potential issues and solutions encountered during the testing process.
Currently, the OpenHarmony ecological product compatibility certificate for the FET527-C module/development board has been officially granted, and the related code has been uploaded to the code repository. Customers and partners can download the solution’s code and related materials from the community. In the future, Allwinner will continue to support more solutions based on Allwinner chips for OpenHarmony system adaptation and product promotion, jointly advancing the construction of the open-source HarmonyOS ecosystem.
