For a long time, there was a lack of a similar LoRA to improve image quality. Although the SDXL model is delicate and rich, there are still some areas that do not meet expectations.
Soon, add detail xl appeared. From the name, it is almost the same as the SD1.5 era, but it was developed by a different author, and the effect is not entirely the same.
The weight of this LoRA can range from -3 to 3, with negative numbers indicating a reduction in detail and positive numbers indicating an increase in detail. Generally speaking, a weight between -1 and 1 keeps the image relatively controllable; using too high or too low a weight can cause some image details to collapse.

The butterfly’s wings have significantly enhanced details.
The butterfly has lost a lot, shifting the weight towards the armor, resulting in a noticeable increase in detail.
Although the details of the butterfly wings have indeed increased, the intention was not for the butterfly to replace the armor on the shoulder. Additionally, the skin texture’s realism has improved.
It only increased the realism of the face.
The image becomes overly complex, making the butterfly somewhat difficult to control.
Details are lost; one cannot be lazy!
Overall, if the goal is to enhance details, it is recommended to use this LoRA with weights between 0.5 and 2 for better results.
Although SD is getting better at AI painting, many times, human guidance is still needed, especially for parameter adjustments, as even a weight value of 0.1 can produce significant changes.
