Upload Mode: 1. New function separates text input values from numeric input values. 2. Added HUSKYLENS AI camera, PS2 controller, MIDI communication. 3. MU visual sensor adds gesture recognition and Wi-Fi functionality. 4. Obloq adds Wi-Fi configuration retrieval function. 5. Added natural theme extension board in the micro:bit extension board. 6. Added functionality to read decimals from the serial port.
Control Board: 1. Wi-Fi adds debugging information output for easier problem diagnosis. 2. Added NTP network clock function. 3. Supports buzzer pin switching function. 4. Added single-line display and clear screen. 5. Added ds18b20 and spectrum analysis modules. 6. Arduino C mode adds built-in font library function.
[Others]
1. MAC computer V1.6.1 version update. 2. Other feature optimizations. 3. Various bug fixes.
The update content shows that the main focus is on addressing highly requested user features. Next, let’s explore the detailed functions through images and text.
[Important Features]
1. The main control board and sensors can be selected simultaneouslyUser Question: “It takes too long to select the control board.” Modification: Previously, selecting the control board required returning to the main interface to select other sensors. Now, everything can be selected on one interface.
Additionally, version 1.6.2 has swapped the positions of the “control board” and “kit” for easier selection of the control board.
2. Supports user-customizable extension librariesUser Question: “Although there are many supported sensors, updates are slow, and it takes months to see new versions after requests.” Modification: Previously, sensor updates had to be presented in new versions, making updates slower. Therefore, version 1.6.2 introduced a separate “user library” function, allowing new sensor libraries to be loaded directly over the network without waiting for new versions. Anyone can create a user library as needed.

[New Features]
1. Added eye-protection mode themeUser Question: The white background is too glaring, which is not good for students’ eye protection, especially when used at night.
Modification: Added an eye-protection theme primarily in gray, maintaining the main color tone while being less glaring.
2. Added screenshot, undo, and redo shortcut buttons to the main interface toolbarUser Question: Shortcuts like ctrl+Z and Ctrl+G are not user-friendly for students; direct buttons are better. Modification: Added three shortcut buttons on the main interface for easy execution.
3. New version number for Beta and RC versions
User Question: Occasionally a new version is released right after a previous one.
Modification: Before the official version is released, some test versions will be distributed for use, which may have some undetected bugs. When these bugs need to be resolved, the new version will have identifiers added: Beta indicates a test version for previewing new features that have not been fully tested and may have many bugs, while RC indicates a fully tested version that can be used normally.
4. Displays error messages when importing translation files
User Question: If there are errors after translation, blocks will pile up together without knowing where the error is, with no prompts. Modification: Detection during file import to prompt issues.
5. Supports “if-else if” and multi-level judgment modulesUser Question: Only if-else makes the program structure hard to read. Modification: Added an easy-to-use multi-level if judgment module, allowing users to change levels with plus and minus symbols. The original if-else module has not been deleted but remains alongside for user choice.
6. All dot matrix custom input boards unified designUser Question: Various dot matrices are different, making it hard to write tutorials and inconvenient to operate. Modification: Unified a type of quick operation control for dot matrix expression boards, supporting quick lighting, extinguishing, built-in expression modification, saving, and importing/exporting functions for more convenient and aesthetically pleasing use.
7. Weather service adds server switching functionUser Question: The results from the previous weather service were inaccurate. Modification: The previous weather service used free server data, which was inaccurate. Version 1.6.2 added a server switching function to obtain data from more accurate servers.
8. Supports new version bootloader for Arduino nano boardsUser Question: The nano has a new bootloader version and cannot upload programs.
Modification: Added support for the new version without manual switching; the software automatically detects new and old versions and uploads programs accordingly.
9. Optimized project save logic to reduce save errorsUser Question: Occasionally, files fail to open. Modification: Optimized project saving logic to reduce such issues. 10. Added Traditional Chinese User Question: No Traditional Chinese support. Modification: Users provided Traditional Chinese translations, which have been integrated.
[Extension Modules]
Real-time Mode: 1. Supports ultrasonic sensors and servos. The addition of sensors in real-time mode is relatively troublesome, so the most commonly used modules based on user requests are implemented with support for three platforms. 2. Supports UDP communication. The stage in real-time mode can communicate with multiple control boards in upload mode over a local area network.
Upload Mode: 1. New function separates text input values from numeric input values. Define corresponding parameters based on the type of function input parameters to avoid parameter type errors.
2. Added HUSKYLENS AI camera, PS2 controller, MIDI communication. Prioritized support for modules that received high user demand. 3. MU visual sensor adds gesture recognition and Wi-Fi functionality. 4. Obloq adds Wi-Fi configuration retrieval function. 5. Added natural theme extension board in the micro:bit extension board.
Control Board: 1. Wi-Fi adds debugging information output for easier problem diagnosis. Prioritized support for modules that received high user demand. 2. Added NTP network clock function. Calibrates time through the network when starting the board. 3. Supports buzzer pin switching function. External buzzers can now be used. 4. Added single-line display and clear screen for easier display. 5. Added ds18b20 and spectrum analysis modules.
6. Arduino C mode adds built-in font library functionUser Question: In upload mode, the Chinese characters under Arduino C are all predefined in the program, and characters sent via IoT cannot be displayed directly on the screen. Solution: In upload mode, by burning the Chinese character library (synchronized with the MicroPython Chinese character library, with changes in character shape), there is no need to pre-modify Chinese characters; any sent Chinese characters can be parsed and displayed directly. This is the detailed description of the V1.6.2 update content, go and experience it now!

The purpose of education is to cultivate students’ collaboration skills, communication skills, critical thinking, and creativity, with creativity being at the core. As one of the few comprehensive maker education service providers in China, Mushroom Cloud Maker Education aims to cultivate children’s creativity.
To better connect the knowledge learned in class with the real world, Mushroom Cloud will guide schools in planning, establishing, and operating their maker spaces. Different designs and layouts have been made based on the age groups of students.
Elementary school maker spaces focus on fun,
emphasizing interactive scenarios;
Middle school maker spaces focus on practicality,
emphasizing learning scenarios;
High school maker spaces focus on technology,
emphasizing application scenarios;
In terms of content, Mushroom Cloud collaborates with leading maker teachers in China to compile a series of teaching materials suitable for domestic maker education. It also has a complete maker education curriculum system, including course content and teaching aids, course training, and technical Q&A. Similarly, there are distinctions in course classification and design based on the age groups of students.
Elementary school focuses on game-based and experiential learning, mainly on learning through play.
Middle school guides students to engage in inquiry-based learning through hands-on activities, promoting learning through doing.
High school learning is based on problems and design, requiring teachers to create relevant real-life scenarios for students to learn through thinking.
