This week marks the second to last week of Arduino Easy Learning. We will continue our study of power control and review the content we have learned before, designing a smart home. In addition, we have arranged extended assignments for this week, which teachers with extra capacity can complete. This is a condition for receiving the Excellent Assignment Scholarship.

Lesson 14: Lucky Draw Wheel: Random Numbers and Value Mapping

Randomness is a commonly used mathematical concept in programming, which can be used to simulate random events, such as lottery draws and dice in board games. In this lesson, we will design an electric lottery machine using servos.

Required Components:Arduino UNO board, IO expansion board, SG90 servo, button.

Lesson 15: Remote Control Door Lock: Infrared Remote Control

This lesson explains the implementation of infrared remote control and uses it to create a remote control door lock.

Required Components:Arduino UNO board, IO expansion board, SG90 servo, infrared receiver module, LED light.

Lesson 16: Smart Home System: Comprehensive Case

Smart home is currently a hot topic, characterized by the ability of home appliances to respond to changes in the environment and needs, and to centralize control of different appliances at one control terminal. In this lesson, we will use the remote control included in the kit to create a technical prototype of an all-in-one smart home control system.

Required Components:Arduino UNO, IO expansion board, infrared remote control, infrared receiver module, LED lights (2), temperature sensor, LCD display.

Course Assignments

All three lessons this week have corresponding basic assignments to be completed in the “Assignments and Challenges”, with a deadline of April 21.

Extended Assignment:

This week, “Arduino Easy Learning” has opened extended assignments, which you can complete in the assignments and challenges of Lesson 16. If you want to receive the Excellent Assignment Award from the Technology Classroom (120 yuan scholarship), please ensure to submit the extended assignment on time.

Assignment Content:

1. Select any lesson from MOOC lessons 2 to 14 and complete a teaching plan design.

2. Refer to the teaching plan design sample in the attachment (please download it from the resource download area): Teaching Plan Template–Blink LED Teaching Plan Design (for reference only).doc

3. All programs and program running effects (clear GIFs or video files) involved in the teaching plan design must be submitted together with the teaching plan; otherwise, it will affect the scoring.
