Improvements compared to 3B include:
1. CPU frequency increased from 1.2GHz to 1.4GHz
2. Better overall heat dissipation
3. WIFI supports dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz, providing better connection stability
4. Supports low-power Bluetooth 4.2
5. Ethernet supports POE and faster transmission speeds
Is the previous tutorial applicable to 3B+?
Since 3B+ has less support for systems than 3B, it currently only supports the official system and the 64-bit system released by our public account. Therefore, some tutorials that require installing other systems, such as making a game console, cannot be completed with 3B+. However, most tutorials are fully applicable.
Special note: Our public account has provided two official systems. Please use the new system for Raspberry Pi 3B+. Reply with “Raspberry Pi New System” to obtain it. The old version system is not applicable to 3B+.
How to choose when buying?
If you are a beginner wanting to explore more interesting projects without spending too much, you can choose 3B. If your project has higher performance requirements, you can choose 3B+.
Performance Testing Comparison Results
1. Single-thread performance test
(The above image is 3B, the below image is 3B+, same below)
2. Multi-thread test
3. Mutex test
4. Thread test
Note: If you have questions about the testing methods and results, please watch the Raspberry Pi performance testing tutorial, which provides a detailed introduction and will not be repeated here.
