Recently, the Changhong WatchFly smartwatch has quietly gained popularity in the market. Strangely, it seems to be tightly controlled by resellers. What makes this smartwatch stand out? Today, let’s explore it.
A magical device has emerged in the market, the Changhong WatchFly smartwatch, which has inexplicably gained popularity, as if under a spell. Oddly enough, it seems to be firmly grasped by resellers, as if they are its “real parents.” This has piqued our curiosity about what secrets this watch holds. Today, we will unveil its mysterious veil and investigate thoroughly.
The original price of the Changhong WatchFly smartwatch is 599 yuan. Among smartwatches in the hundred-yuan range, having such a comprehensive set of features is truly rare, akin to winning the lottery. No wonder the resellers’ eyes have turned red, like hungry wolves seeing meat, as they stock up, hoping to make a big profit. We are well aware of the tricks resellers play; pay 139 yuan, leave a review, and you can get 30 yuan back. While researching this watch, I also discovered an interesting alternative called the Patriot GT8, which is practically a twin in terms of functionality and appearance. However, if you have high demands for screen display and user experience, the Patriot GT8 is superior; but if you prioritize battery life above all else, the Changhong WatchFly will definitely satisfy you.
Let’s take a look at the “appearance” and “build” of the Changhong WatchFly. With a size of 48mm, paired with a genuine leather strap and a metal case, it weighs 50 grams. However, I must complain about the strap; when I first put it on, it was as stiff as a metal rod, making it quite uncomfortable. After three days of wear, it finally softened enough to be somewhat comfortable. It features a 1.45-inch 412×412px 60Hz IPS round screen. The 60Hz high refresh rate makes the screen incredibly smooth, whether checking the time, reading messages, or navigating various functions.
The watch face is also quite interesting, with six built-in watch faces. If you find that insufficient and want something cooler, the watch app offers a plethora of free watch faces to choose from. Of course, if you seek ultimate personalization, there are paid watch faces available, ranging from 6 to 9 yuan, catering to various styles to meet your individual needs. However, the watch face size is a bit large; for users with slender wrists, wearing it feels like a child wearing an adult’s watch, which can look a bit awkward.
It is equipped with a 260mAh battery, with the official claim of a maximum battery life of 14 days. In practical use, with normal Bluetooth connectivity and light usage, it lasts a solid 5 to 7 days. For those who often forget to charge their electronic devices and suffer from battery anxiety, this is a lifesaver! No more worrying about the watch suddenly running out of power and “going on strike.”
It supports Bluetooth 5.2, NFC card payment, voice assistant, message notifications, Bluetooth calls, weather checking, and offline payments, allowing integration with services like Alipay. It also features sleep monitoring and claims to monitor blood pressure and non-invasive blood glucose levels, with a full range of sports functions, primarily focusing on health features. However, there are some amusing quirks. For instance, the NFC function is elusive; no matter how hard you look, you won’t find it on the watch. I flipped through countless instructions to find it, and it was quite a journey. Eventually, I discovered that I needed to enable the NFC function on my phone and bring the watch close to the sensing area for it to activate. Another puzzling aspect is that even with Bluetooth connected to the watch, you still need to connect the audio Bluetooth separately; otherwise, you cannot sync phone calls or control Douyin, nor can you play music from your phone on the watch. However, given its loud and clear speaker, I can forgive this little “quirk.” Additionally, it can bind WeChat and QQ contacts to the watch, making it very convenient to add friends.
Upon arrival, the manual and packaging were intact, just like new from the factory. In summary, my experience after a day of use has been quite positive. Notifications for WeChat and SMS are timely, and the watch vibrates strongly, making it perfect for use as an alarm clock—no more worries about oversleeping. In previous articles, I mentioned that it does not support NFC configuration, but in terms of cost-effectiveness, this smartwatch from the well-known Changhong brand is quite impressive. Although it has a few minor issues, overall, it performs well and may bring us more surprises in the future!
