One of the most striking improvements of this TX650 (also known as XS650) is the treatment of the “cockpit”.
The custom-designed and 3D-printed dashboard looks more like an aircraft cockpit than a motorcycle dashboard, filled with functional switches and warning lights. Below the switches is a pair of Daytona gauges displaying speed and RPM, with a digital display in the center. The digital display includes three additional dials showing tilt angle and altitude, speed and current latitude, as well as compass direction, just like what you would see in an airplane. This requires learning a lot, but undoubtedly enhances the overall visual effect.
All electrical devices are managed by the Motogadget Mo.unit controller. The Motogadget switches and LED lighting replace the original components and are equipped with a 12-volt AC generator system, which integrates the VAPE solid-state ignition device, along with the SHORAI LFX battery that provides all the power.
At the core of the TX650 is the redesigned parallel twin-cylinder engine. The original 654cc cylinders have been enlarged to 750cc, and new pistons have been installed to increase power, ensuring that the motorcycle remains relevant in 21st-century traffic. Fuel is managed by a rather surprising addition to the Weber series carburetors. A DCOE40 designed specifically for small car engines has been installed, using a custom-designed and 3D-printed nylon intake manifold. A custom 2 into 2 exhaust system rounds out the setup, providing a sound more suitable for a motorcycle with a fighter jet aesthetic.
